How did I figure that Steve & Barry’s celebrity line doesn’t just end with Sarah Jessica Parker’s Bitten? Celebrity lines are a big money making business and it doesn’t matter if they know how to design or not, their name sells. Steve & Barry’s signed a deal with Amanda Bynes for an exclusive collection of apparel and accessories called Dear, which is being launched in stores on Aug. 10. Why? She’s not quite stylish but may be because it will appeal to her teenage fans. The price point will be $19.98 and below, I’m not complaining till I see some pics…hopefully I’ll be surprised. Dear will offer more than 120 pieces of clothing and 28 accessories styles, including bags, shoes, belts and cold-weather items. It will also feature 70 pieces of jewelry. According to information provided by Steve & Barry’s, the Dear line will “reflect Bynes’ personal sense of style and comfort.” The idea, they said, was to provide clothing that will be “dear to the wearer for years to come.” – WWD
