3.1 phillip lim for UNIQLO 05.22.2007

UNIQLO’s most anticipated Designers Invitation Project: 3.1 phillip lim finally launched today! I wasn’t there in the morning but I heard there was a press event and a long line outside the store. When I got there after work, there were still a lot of stuff left, everything except the vests and linen dresses. I copped a few pieces, go quick because I don’t think much will be left after these few days. Just a note, everything runs extremely big, I copped everything in a size XS. Peep my buys after the jump…

thanks for posting the info about this designer collection. I would never have known otherwise. I love love love this collection. Best designer line for low end stores ever!!! I was there this morning and I’m surprised there are plenty of small sizes left by the afternoon.

it all looks so nice! glad you got what you wanted. is there anyone out there willing to ship a couple of pieces to me in Uniqlo-deprived Canada???

I thought most of the line didn’t run big, except the jersey pieces that were huge, but the linen paperbag dress ran TINY–I was with a bunch of people and we all passed (we’re all different sizes) but none of us could wear it as it was so small on–and we’re thin, slim, tall, short, different shapes, but all had the same problems with the tiny skirt of the dress. I loved the line, wished the skirt was i a plain color and thought Mr. Lim himself was really nice. Uniqlo handled the crowds with grace and everything was well made.

I am 4 foot 11 inches and found the linen dress to be a tiny fit, even going up a size to small. I bought
the linen jumper in small as it was sold out in xs….runs big. the sizing was very uneven in this collection.
Loved the alice roi more consistency in sizing. I though the plaid was a strange choice for black obsessed
nyc. The plaid dress would have been great in colors…as it was the plaid din’t even have black in it!

I actually was the first person there…I got there at 7am and to my surprise people didn’t really show up until around 9am (Press Invitation). At any rate, I had a laundry list of things to get my both myself and my friends. I ended up with the knotted linen dress( Black/ Eggshell), the vest (navy & white), the belted linen dress (Black)and the trapeze dress ( Grey/ Green). I am most thankful for the fact that I was able to cop the knotted dress as Mr. Lim was quoted as saying that that piece was his favorite in the collection. As far as sizing, I am 5′8″ and slender. I agree with the previous comments, things ran big. Contrary to the previous comment, I felt that Alice Roi ran big as well. At any rate, I thought it was pretty coul that Phillip was there as was interacting with people. I actually went back today to return the plaid dress, Honestly, I didn’t feel that it was anything special and felt that the other pieces of the collection reflected more of the 3.1 Phillip Lim vibe.

To Sallie….I’d be more that happy to try and cop something for you but as of this afternoon, there was only the trapeze dress in white, the V-neck tops, the plaid dress/skirt, and a few of the high waisted white linen shorts,

i had be dying to get my little paws on the linen dress but sort of spaced it. went into the store the other day and there were two of them left in black, one xs and one m. i’m a US 6 on top and 8 on bottom. the xs was def. too small. m actually looked good tho a bit roomy on top but i bought it anyway. i’d love one in white, thinking of buying one on ebay. it seems that the small might be a better fit as the m is just a little big. thoughts?

I love this line, and I really want the plaid madras dress and the black knotted linen dress in a small or xsmall…if anyone could get either of these dresses for me I would be more than happy to pay you more than you did! thanks!!
