The Scene After hitting up the NORT x Diet Pepsi – Premium Good Party, Mimi, Hawaii Mike, YM and I (Keiko joined later) hit up Chinatown Brasserie for dinner. At first I was skeptical about going there b/c I’ve heard it wasn’t that great and it was overpriced (I seriously would of never gone there voluntarily). The restaurant is huge with red/white lanterns hanging, it def reminded me of the “old days”. The decor and ambiance was nice and upscale with the majority of the menu made up of dim sum, different dim sum from the ones I’ve had in Chinatown and Hong Kong. The prices were overpriced for uninteresting dishes and if you’re thinking “family style”, you’re at the wrong spot (stereotype for Chinese food). Overall the food didn’t amaze me, it was decent I would come back for some dim sum and that’s about it but I refuse to pay $19 for General Tso’s Chicken, that’s just ridiculous! Thanks for dinner MIMI! Peep the pics after the jump…
I can’t remember all the Dim Sum dishes we had, but you can check the menu here.
