The Marc Jacobs fashion show has got to be one of the most coveted in New York Fashion Week- I wish I was there to experience it live (one day…sigh). Season after season Marc Jacobs never fails to impress, not only does he have the ability to attract an A-list of celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Victoria Beckham, Nicole Richie, Winona Ryder, Kanye West, Jay-Z and more come through to his show he has the brightest ideas. With a lineup of mirror doors like in a funhouse creating illusions, the models walked down the runway as Gershwin played in the background. The globe-trotting “American meets Paris” collection is simply amazing, cinched sparkly fabric sashes on top of layers of clothes, brocade-like prints mixed and matched, plaids, shiny materials, high-waist skirts and not to mention the fab shoes, handbags and jewelry- oh the the straw hats that looked like plates tilted on the heads of the models. The multi-layering mash-up of different patterns and materials and bold accessories made a statement. I love the whole collection and the best part- Marc comes out at the end in a skirt!
