We’ve all got a lil excited when we saw the first look of the Thakoon for Target collection last month. The wait is over, now here’s a look at the full collection of women’s swimwear and apparel which is slated to release on December 28, 2008 through the month of January 2009 at Target stores and target.com/go. Thanks to reader Sheba for the tip.
“Thakoon for Target provides a contemporary take on classic resort must-haves for the GO International program with stunning graphic prints and a colorful palette. A blue and white shibori print and yellow and green large floral pattern update basic tees and tunics, providing a younger vibe for the breezy season. A signature diagonal stripe in blue and green is found throughout the collection and adorns a belted, blousy A-line dress, giving a refreshing edge to a relaxed silhouette. A short-sleeve hip-length cardigan in gray makes it easy to pull off the layered look; a stylish topper over a shibori print tee and black cropped pants. Swimwear in bright hues looks chic worn with a coordinating tunic in a matching print; a true statement poolside. Ranging in price from $16.99 - $44.99, the line includes a variety of seasonal staples including flutter sleeve tees, ruffled tanks and belted shirtdresses. Stand-out pieces include a floral print canvas coat, a shibori print ¾-sleeve dress, floral print shorts and a striped pleated dress, with prints that give a nod to Panichgul’s Eastern heritage.”
The collection is fun and young, love the prints and colors on the basic tees, tunics, skirts and dresses- I especially like the floral print canvas coat (pictured). I anticipate the release, are you feelin’ the range? Which pieces do you like?

Posted By: ladylike | December 2nd, 2008 at 9:44 amLove the skirts. This collection is going to be hard for me to pass up…
Posted By: K | December 2nd, 2008 at 10:30 amLOVE! I’m going to buy each of those dresses!
Posted By: secondbecky | December 2nd, 2008 at 11:59 amThanks for posting retrogurl. I LUV this whole line.
Posted By: Sheba | December 2nd, 2008 at 1:06 pmIt’s really similar to the Patrick Robinson line no?
Posted By: Eli | December 2nd, 2008 at 1:43 pmLove the collection. But the shoes are adorable. Will be on the look out for them, too.
Posted By: tracey | December 2nd, 2008 at 2:54 pmI can’t believe it’s getting so many rave reviews. I hate everything. Bleh.
Posted By: Justy | December 2nd, 2008 at 3:12 pmI love your previews! I like the mix of prints, I can’t wait to layer some of these pieces. The skirts look big, even on the models, but we’ll have to see the items in person. My favorites are the striped dress and the floral dress, they’ll look great belted.
Posted By: Poster Girl | December 2nd, 2008 at 3:20 pmCan’t wait! Not so hot on the tie dye, but I love everything else. And those shoes….
Posted By: Cassie | December 2nd, 2008 at 7:54 pmThe coat and the dress from the preview are lovely, as are the full skirts, the black granny dress, some of the blouses, and the OMG shoes. The rest of it is kind of meh.
One thing that really bothers me about many of the GO collections is the smock dress styles. It would be great to see a Target-related designer who isn’t leaving soon (Isaac) acknowledge that styles which nip in at the waist are flattering to many body types, and would make their core audience happy.
Posted By: Chelsea | December 2nd, 2008 at 7:58 pmCute!
Posted By: TKC | December 2nd, 2008 at 8:32 pmBut why does Target always think we are swimming all year round to always have a suit in their collecetions?
i love it!

i believe it’s a “resort” collection…aka a summery collection that comes out around christmas for those people that cruise~and~resort on the holiday.
i live on an island–so i’m super excited. i love the print on prints.
I think that Thakoon really dropped the ball. This is crap.. I don’t think the majority or Target shoppers require ‘resort wear’. I mean jeez, maybe some late winter apparel would have been better. This is so yuck.
Posted By: elizadeath | December 3rd, 2008 at 8:29 amloving it.
Posted By: Camille | December 3rd, 2008 at 9:01 amthe tie-dye is disgusting….
Posted By: Kendy | December 3rd, 2008 at 10:32 amLove, love, love. For sure I’m gonna buy three tops and a dress. (And I think that shows A LOT of self restrainst–because this line is so adorable!)
And LOL I have to agree with TKC. What is up with all the swimsuits 365 days out of the year? I wish target would invest more into fun accessories. Jonathan Saunders didn’t have any (but that’s okay cause the line was atrocious anyways). The last time there were fun accessories was with Erin Fetherston (the heart necklace, the red bag, and the head bands).
Memo to target: necklaces, little wallets/coin purses (in interesting textiles), canvas totes, and hats should be a part of the range.
Posted By: Inspired Lime | December 3rd, 2008 at 4:23 pmi really like the shoes…
Posted By: Diane | December 3rd, 2008 at 8:02 pmThose black shoes give quite the cankle effect. Who wears oxfords with no socks? Ouch!
I wish there was a tshirt with the pattern from the first coatdress and the last skirt. And I second the need for accessories! How about a totebag, makeup bag, sunglasses etc.
Posted By: lin | December 4th, 2008 at 2:13 pmCan’t wait! I love everything, not since Jovovich-Hawk had I been this excited. I did not care for the styling using those oxfords and flat hair.. (and I DO love oxfords…)
