Zipper Dress in Blue $34.99 [Available 02.01.2009]
Now that the Thakoon for Target collection has released and the hype is over with and while we’re waiting patiently for the McQ Alexander McQueen for Target collaboration under their new fashion initiative called Designer Collaborations which is slated to release in March 2009, we’ll just have to settle for Target’s Private Label 5 Collection which is actually not half bad. The range has a punk rock feel to it along with some girlie frocks which is scheduled to release at Target stores and Target.com starting February, 1, 2009. Your thoughts? Any pieces interest you?

I purchased a tank at the Mango Store just like the ruffle tank, the fit is really nice. The dresses are adorable. The whole collection looks fun and the prices, well I can’t complain at all.
Posted By: NJPryce | January 7th, 2009 at 6:09 pmGlad to see the next collection. I know everyone loves the Thakoon capsule, but I have to say it was a complete let down. The dresses (shirt dress and the frog dress) I ordered were too big. I tried on the smallest sizes and they looked awful. Very heartbreaking.
Posted By: tracey | January 7th, 2009 at 6:33 pmThe collection is adorable — as always. Very Alexander Wang. But I too was disappointed with Thakoon. Everything so huge! The dresses were a joke and the cardigan I ordered failed to excite. I too wait for McQ but I don’t have high hopes. From what I’ve seen, it looks very silly.
Posted By: Inspired Lime | January 7th, 2009 at 8:34 pmAhhh! I’m feelin’ the bandage dress and drape skirt
Posted By: Gee | January 7th, 2009 at 9:43 pmthe only thing i like is the blue zipper dress. how can we figure out what shoes the model is wearing in the last photo? kind of like the SATC dior gladiator but toned down.
Posted By: sasha | January 7th, 2009 at 9:56 pmThey shouldnt have told us about Mcqueen, now Im not interested in anything else!
Posted By: Eli | January 7th, 2009 at 11:46 pmIt looks like they’ve nailed quite a few trends with this collection. The blue zipper dress, multi color floral skirt, bandage dress and the jumpsuit are my favorites. I’m a little excited to go see these in person after seeing these photos!
Posted By: Poster Girl | January 8th, 2009 at 2:05 amEven the model is like whattheck is up with my jumpsuit?
Posted By: TKC | January 8th, 2009 at 3:02 amThis whole collection is a let down. It looks like the clearance at H&M…
RIP Luella ‘06.

Why are all the “available by” dates so random?
Posted By: QT | January 8th, 2009 at 12:29 pmlove the blue dress!
Posted By: huongface | January 8th, 2009 at 5:18 pmI like the jumpsuit but would love it in a print or another color.
Posted By: Tiffany | January 9th, 2009 at 2:34 pmThe shoes are cool. Are they part of the colletction.
Posted By: Raven | January 12th, 2009 at 9:11 pmFloral drape skirt. Floral bandage dress. Cutout shoulder dress (I can already tell though that it MUST be worn with a belt).
And that’s IT. Pretend that every other item is NOT part of one of Target’s fun little collections, and suddenly they each become one of those average items shoved into an overstuffed Forever21 rack that you wouldn’t give a second thought to. We need to remember that what makes some of this stuff so appealing is the fact that it’s supposed to be high-end design in discount store, at a discount price, but it’s not appealing for any reason beyond that.
That multi-color drape skirt does look awesome, though:)
Posted By: McKenna | January 15th, 2009 at 3:33 amI love the Ruffle Sweater Vest–I will definitely be purchasing it tomorrow! I also like the Multi-color Drape Skirt. And that’s about it. The rest of it is “eh”…and that jumpsuit is horrible.
The available dates for some of these items is weird…I assumed the entire collection would be out at once, not sporadically over the next couple of months. Strange.
Posted By: emma | January 31st, 2009 at 2:23 pmI do not see any of these items on line today. Anybody see in the store? Help!!
Posted By: Betsy | February 2nd, 2009 at 12:54 pmcutout shoulder dress & colorblock tank..on 75% clearance….
Posted By: elizadeath | February 2nd, 2009 at 7:35 pmfound the drape skirt….search for “new next now,” click “Women” on the left-hand side
Posted By: sarahmp | February 3rd, 2009 at 10:00 pmi dont see this anywhere on the site.. can someone post a link please?
Posted By: liz | February 6th, 2009 at 7:47 amYeah, I can’t find any of it on the website either. It’s also not in either of the two Target stores near my home.
Maybe the availability dates here are wrong??
Posted By: emma | February 7th, 2009 at 11:51 amOh wait…I found the drape skirt when I did the “new next now” search. That’s the only item from this collection they have up there right now. Or at least that I can see.
Posted By: emma | February 7th, 2009 at 11:54 amA few more of the items from this collection are now on the Target website, although when you add one of the items to your cart, it says that the item is available in 2-6 weeks.
So some of these availability dates on here are definitely incorrect.
