Donna Karan is launching denim for her Spring ‘09 collection, the jeans are a bias cut with inspirational quotes in the interior pocket of each pair jeans and the buttons were designed by Robert Lee Morris. There are five styles offered, The Sculpted Bias (pictured), The Sculpted Skinny, The Sculpted Flare, The Relaxed City and The Relaxed Beach. As Donna has said, “Fabric has always spoken to me. I love the fluidity and sensuality of the way a bias-cut fabric drapes and molds the body. When you cut denim on the bias the result is the ultimate in fit and comfortability. There’s no side seam, so your legs look long and lean. These jeans are designed to move with you wherever your life takes you.” The jeans are slated to hit Donna Karan stores, Saks, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus late February and retail from $395 to $595 a pair. The price tag is quite hefty but if the jeans makes you look long and lean, would it be worth it? More pics after the jump…

Talk about poor timing, but perhaps it wouldn’t be so poor if the design was good. Rock and Republic has announced that the days of 300 dollar jeans are dead, Donna should scrap this before it launches while she still can.
