They are all cutting, and the press lists seem to be geting the axe first. I understand they need more room for buyers, but it’s the press that gets the attention of customers and buyers and drives them into the stores. I’ve always had more invites than I knew what to do with and this year, the invites seem scarce. Bring back the old fashion week!!! I wish the designers would realize the importance of the media (and it’s not just all about Vogue, Elle and Harpers Bazaar).

Looks like the recession has hit the fashion industries too. More guests means more money spent on invitation cards, press kit, etc. Since the US has been hit quite hard financially, this kind of situation is bound to happen.

why does he do that? Doesn’t he need more buyers and customers to see his clothes in order to buy more in this economic crisis?

This is truly my issue with MJ, he’s creating a hysteria that’s making everyone even more nervous about money. He’s not hurting and even if he was, it’s not as badly as other companies/he can still maintain his showmanship. I think him cutting out parties and space is ridiculous. I think it’s fine to scale back a bit, but he’s just being a jackass about it.

lol i think the prices for those tickets on the blackmarket just had one hell of a push.
