Why is anyone surprised that Conde Nast spends $200,000 on Anna Wintour's hair and makeup? If the managing editor of Car and Driver showed up in a primer-coated 1973 pinto, no one would take him or his magazine seriously. If Anna came to work looking frumpy and every day of her 60 years, no one would look to her for fashion and style know-how. She represents the magazine more than any other single person.
I took her final comment, that she would one day leave "very quietly" to mean that someone would have to pry her current position from her cold, dead hand, and that's the only way she would be leaving.
Bravo, Anna! You are a talented, fascinating, successful and beautiful woman. Keep at it until you no longer can!

Morley Safer took a goddess and humanized her. Anna Wintour is an icon, why the hell does he feel as though he can freely patronize her? The fashion industry is not given the respect it deserves, and Morley does nothing to help raise the level of respect in this interview.

I officially hate Morley Safer. He is the stereotypical old white male who is close-minded and refuses to accept a woman as powerful as Anna Wintour as an American icon.

I don't actually believe that Galliano would dare offer anything but the most flattering of compliments, he's pinned between Wintour and Arnault. Not a comfortable place to be!

It was funny whe she called a $1200 Wang dress "reasonable." She is fascinating and powerful, and I enjoyed the interview with her as well as the other designers.
