I don’t know about you but I’m dying to watch Brüno, the movie opens this Friday, July 10th at a theater near you- will you be watching it? I’ll be catching this flick when I get back from Jamaica for sure, can’t wait to get a good laugh. WWD did a feature on Brüno today featuring some of his most memorable fashion moments in the two years of crashing catwalks, punking celebrities and assaulting heterosexual America with his high-fashion flamboyance. In Brüno, Sacha Baron Cohen is an “Austrian fashion journalist who is narcissistic, fame-obsessed, overstyled” and “considers African babies the ultimate fashion accessory and describes Al-Qaeda as ’so 2001,’ is an ambassador of bad taste — both sartorial and political.” Watching just the trailer of the movie was funny enough, one scene featured Brüno wearing a velcro jumpsuit invading the backstage of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada’s spring 2009 runway show collecting pieces of her collection on him and made way onto the catwalk, it was a nightmare for the designer but funny for us lol. “I was furious with that man. He was violent. He pushed my art director to the floor and scared the models,” recalled de la Prada of Brüno. “But there he was, turning my show into a nightmare, and I wanted to kill him.” But someone felt different about him, “He didn’t come to my fashion show,” lamented von Furstenberg. “But I wish he had.” Genius, loves it! “He’s gay. He’s Austrian. He worships Karl Lagerfeld. And now, he’s coming to a theater near you.” More pics and videos after the jump…
