Guys faux fur is NOT real fur. It's synthetic. See wikipedia definition:

Fake fur, also called fun fur or faux fur, is any material made of synthetic fibers designed to resemble fur, normally as part of a piece of clothing. It was first introduced in 1929[1] and has been commercially available since the 1950s, but its increasing popularity has been credited to its promotion by animal rights and animal welfare organizations which claim that it is an animal-friendly alternative to traditional fur clothing.[2]

Is it true that Rachael's faux fur vests are made of dog or cat hair? I Have them all and I can't believe that Rachael would do that or QVC would let them pass quality control. Please give me some assurance. Thank you. E

Faux fur is made from synthetic or man made materials, usually Acrylic.

Big mistake. Animals die for Faux fur. Lots of them. Its just usually dogs (and sometimes cats).

Its only called "faux" because its not the "real" expensive type of fur.

Um, yes she is.

"Faux fur" is still real fur, taken from an animal that has likely been skinned alive. Often dogs and cats overseas, no less.

They're only called "faux" because they're not the real versions of fur that they are pretending to be. In other words, the "faux" is for cost….the lives that are lost are just as real.
