A bit behind on news, so here’s a quick roundup…

According to VOGUE UK, Sarah Burton, the late Alexander McQueen’s right-hand design aide, has been named creative director of the London-based fashion house. Jonathan Akeroyd, President and CEO of Alexander McQueen said, “We are delighted that Sarah has agreed to take on the role of creative director. Having worked alongside Lee McQueen for more than 14 years, she has a deep understanding of his vision, which will allow the company to stay true to its core values.” Sarah joined the brand in 1996 and has worked as head of womenswear design since 2000, so we can expect she will stay true to his legacy.

Olivier Theyskens is launching a women’s capsule collection for Theory for the spring/summer 2011 season according to WWD. Can’t wait to see what he comes up with! Stay tuned for more info forthcoming…

Christophe Lemaire has parted ways with Lacoste by mutual agreement and according to WWD he was named on Wednesday as the new artistic director of Hermès, succeeding Jean Paul Gaultier. Lemaire will remain at the helm of Lacoste, until the presentation of its spring 2011 collection in New York in September, the firms said. I wonder who will take over as creative director at Lacoste. This should be interesting, Lemaire’s first season will be the fall/winter 2011 collection. I look forward to seeing his collection!
