Samsung Galaxy Tab

Ever since the iPad launched I’ve been finding excuses for myself to get one but I’ve held off since it’s still first gen and I’ve been hearing rumors that Samsung was going to release a tablet as well. Last week Samsung announced the first mobile tablet in T-Mobile’s Android portfolio, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and I’m quite excited about it. The Galaxy Tab features a vibrant 7 inch WSVGA enhanced TFT touch screen display combined with 3D-like graphics and full support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1 for accessing Flash-enabled websites, watching video and playing games; a speedy processor; dual-facing cameras; the Android 2.2 operating system and built in Wi-Fi. I’ve been testing out Android phones for a few months now and I love the thousands of Android Market widgets, games and applications that you can download.

The Galaxy Tab is expected to be available to T-Mobile customers this holiday season, hopefully in time for Christmas! Definitely hope I can get my hands on a unit to play with. Check out the live demo video after the jump…

  1. Thanks for posting! This looks so neat- I wish it was available outside of the Tmobile network..

Just bought the Tab from Verizon last night. Sold my Droid X to buy it and went to a "regular" cell phone. I figure I can do everything I did on the Droid X with the Tab and do it bigger. I think it is beautiful. And I chose it over the ipad because of its portability. It fits in my purse so it is really easy to take anywhere. I got the black leather case that doubles as a kickstand.

Because I have had a Droid, Droid Incredible and a Droid X, I am very familiar with Android. But not with this particular device's capabilities. Came across http://www.mygalaxytab.net looks promising, but my first goal is to figure out how to get a movie onto it as I want to watch one on a plane trip next week. Going to L.A. for Thanksgiving.

Like I wonder how much data it will take to download one. That sort of thing. Is the 16 micro card big enough to several movies.
