CND Shellac Manicure @ Jin Soon

CND Shellac Manicure @ Jin Soon

My friends have been raving about shellac nails for a minute already and I almost got it done at an event but the line was too long. Finally this past Saturday, I stopped by Jin Soon at the East Village and got a CND Shellac manicure. At the moment there are only 20 solid colors to choose from but more will be added, I went with a red shade.

First the manicure is done dry so no oils or water gets on the nails, then a layer of shellac UV base coat and 60 seconds of drying under the UV lamp. One layer of color coat is painted on then hand is placed under the UV lamp for 2 minutes and repeated again, a total of 2 layers of color coat. Then finished off with 1 layer of top color to keep the nails shiny, hands are placed in the UV lamp for the last 2 minutes. Nails are completely dry after that, no waiting time needed or accidents of messing up the manicure! Rubbing alcohol is used to clean off residue and make it more shiny, lastly a massage to finish it off. The manicure takes about 1 hour and costs $45 + tax. The CND Shellac manicure lasts for 14-days without chipping and keeps it’s shine, it’s still looking good after 2 days. So happy with it. Thanks CND and Jin Soon for the pampering.

Have you tried shellac? If yes, did your manicure last for 14-days? Share your stories…
