It seems like it was just a couple of months ago that I got ombré done but a blink of an eye it’s been a year since my last hair dye. And that is the main reason why I really like ombré, it’s low maintenance and still looks good even if you haven’t dyed it for awhile. It’s a new year and since Chinese New Year is almost here I wanted to get my hair done before that. Thanks to Eiji Salon, I got a hair cut and updated my ombré color.

Last week Eiji Salon invited me to their Madison Avenue location to get my hair done. I worked with Michael Murphy, the color director, on the ombré color and after about 2-3 hours my color was achieved. I wanted my tips to be a lot lighter which came out perfectly, so happy with my ombré.

After dying my hair, I met with salon owner Eiji Yamane for my hair cut. I explained to him I wanted my hair lighter, layered and side bangs. He got it right away and didn’t cut my hair too short because I wanted it long. Eiji is best known for its dry cut technique, done by straightening hair out first then cutting and carving shapes into that dry hair – going in and out, shaping, building, and structuring the hair. It worked out really nicely and it was interesting to watch Eiji work. Although dry cut takes a bit longer (about an hour and half), I was told that clients do not have to come back for 3 months, 1 month for clients with shorter hair. I loved working with Eiji, he’s very humble and has great skills.

I love my hair cut and ombré color, and I’ve been getting lots of compliments on my hair! I think the most important accessory is your hair, you wear it everyday so it must be done right! Many thanks to Eiji Salon for pampering me!
