Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2012 with Diet Pepsi

Can you believe Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is here already? I can’t! Time seriously is passing super fast, especially when it’s good times. I am so happy to announce that I am one of Diet Pepsi‘s fashion week correspondent this season! Diet Pepsi is back as an official sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to refresh consumers by providing fun and uplifting moments throughout the week. I’ll be covering daily happenings, runway shows/presentations and behind-the-scenes content as well, so be sure to follow me here (twitter: @nitrolicious & instagram: @nitro_licious).

I’ll be attending the Diet Pepsi sponsored refreshing runway experience on Thursday, curated by fashion commentator Simon Doonan and presented on a set designed by Jonathan Adler. The Diet Pepsi Style Studio fashion show will feature a collection of original looks by four regional designers: Project Runway alum and Dallas-based Shirin Askari; Denver, Colorado’s Rachel Hurst of Rae Marie; Genoveva Christoff from Columbus, OH and Elise Bergman from Chicago, IL. And also Christian Cota created a Diet Pepsi-inspired capsule collection that will be on display at the DP Style Studio in the Grand Lobby of Lincoln Center, check it out. Lots of fun ‘refreshing moments’ to come!

nOir Jewelry for L.A.M.B.

A few days ago I was invited to nOir Jewelry‘s showroom to check out their new collections. Designer Lee personally walked me through all her new designs and I was immediately attracted to the nOir Jewelry for L.A.M.B. collection which debuted in Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. Spring 2012 presentation during NYFW. The collection was Indian-inspired and is simply amazing, I can’t wait till I can show the entire collection, here’s a sneak peek of what to expect! Mulberry 40th Anniversary Party in NYC

Happy 40th birthday to Mulberry! During NYFW Mulberry celebrated on the rooftop of Skylight West with friends and family and a special performance by Kasabian. The 70s-style dance floor was lit up in the center stage with DJ Harley Viera Newton and Teen Vogue‘s Andrew Bevan on the 1s and 2s. There was also a balloon artist making animal shapes and balloon hats for guests but I asked for angel wings! I nearly knocked everyone in the face walking around in my pink balloon wings but everyone seemed to have loved it (I hope) haha. And of course the Giant Bayswater was there to greet guests as you enter/exit and the multiple gold Bayswater balloons at every corner of the party. Always fun.

Dinner with Glam at Fred’s at Barneys New York

On day 7 of NYFW, Glam.com invited me along with a bunch of their favorite bloggers to dinner at Fred’s at Barneys New York. It was great to sit down to have a proper meal since I’ve been running around all week and it was the day before the end of NYFW. I saw a lot of my blogger friends and I had great seatmates, and also met some new friends. I sat with Bianca from Bankable Enterprises and Nola from Glam. Great food and great company!

Karen Elson for Nine West Launch Party

Last week, Karen Elson and Nine West celebrated the launch of their collaboration at Beauty & Essex with a fun party and performance by the multi-talented model, singer, dancer and designer. Beauty & Essex was the perfect nightclub scene for the party, fabulous and glamorous. The Karen Elson for Nine West Vintage America Collection was readily available for guests to try on as you entered Beauty & Essex, my favorite is the THEGHOST wedge, Karen was wearing the black pair that night. Fun night.

Mulberry Soho Store

My NYFW posts will be posted randomly, I’ve thought about posting it all according to schedule but that didn’t work obviously. So I’ll be posting mostly the events that I attended first.

During NYFW I stopped by the new 5,000 sq ft Mulberry store in Soho and immediately fell in love with the book wall that consisted of over 8,000 hardback books. The store’s site has over the years been home to a zipper factory, printers and book storage, and this rich local history influenced the site-specific installations we commissioned for the store. And there was yummy Afternoon Tea served to us too, super cute.

Mulberry loves New York and to prove that they produced two exclusive bag designs. The New York Clipper is a customised version of a classic Mulberry style, featuring New York-inspired detailing, colours and hardware. It is a Glossy Buffalo leather bag that comes in red, white or blue, with a luggage tag showcasing the exclusive Mulberry “peace, love and apple” motif. The Clipper will retail for $950 (£595). And if you feel like splurging, the exclusive Alexa bag design – made in Oak Ostrich and covered in dozens of gold apple-shaped rivets is really cute. Only 10 are available, retailing for $6250 (£4000) each. Both the Clipper and Alexa will be available from our US stores as well as on the US mulberry.com.
