Balenciaga to Launch Fragrance

According to Street Insider, Balenciaga has signed a deal with Coty Inc. to create, develop and distribute a series of fragrance lines under the Balenciaga name. “Effective immediately, the partnership will renew the Balenciaga brand in keeping with its fragrance heritage, which first started in 1946 with the launch of the famous “Le Dix”.” Stay tuned for more info forthcoming…

Nike Women’s Training 2009 Media Summit: Nike Fitness Package

Just as I was about to step out for lunch earlier I received a Nike Fitness Package from the good peeps at Nike (thanks!). The bag itself was pretty nice, inside was filled with lots of fitness gear including a dope pair of sneakers Nike Zoom Sister One + (not sure what they are will find out and report back), workout gear (hoodie, training bra, pants, capri, tanks, t-shirt) and even socks! I’ll definitely be putting some of these gear in good use tomorrow, stay tuned for more updates from the Nike Women’s Training 2009 Media Summit in Portland!

Nike Women’s Training 2009 Media Summit at Portland!

Once again sorry for the lack of posts yesterday, after the last post I had to run out for a quick lunch with my friend, Rocky (Nike)- it was his last day in town. Afterward, headed to the airport to catch my flight to Portland, Oregon. What am I doing here? Nike invited me over to attend the Women’s Training 2009 Media Summit at the Nike Headquarters in Portland. It’s my second time here, both times for Nike haha! I have two days of full agenda, I can’t wait!

Create Your Own YSL Rouge Volupté Masterpiece

YSL Beauté has teamed up with Brickfish to launch the “Create Your Own YSL Rouge Volupté Masterpiece” campaign in celebration of their new signature lipstick, Rouge Volupté. The campaign calls on fashionistas and designers alike to create a fabulously chic masterpiece inspired by the glamorous allure of the YSL Rouge Volupté Collection.

The campaign allows participants to use any medium to create their masterpiece, ranging from painting to graphic art and many more. YSL Beauté is looking for unique gallery-worthy YSL lipstick-inspired pieces of art. The grand prize winner, selected by an expert panel from YSL Beauté, will receive a trip to NYC to have their makeup done by a YSL makeup artist. Prizes will also be awarded to one runner-up and one most viral entry. Too bad I live in NYC already, good luck to those that enter!

Diesel Fuel For Life Unlimited - For Women Only

A couple weeks back, Diesel Fragrances sent me a package. Inside is the new feminine fragrance that they launched for women only, Fuel For Life Unlimited. It’s a new declination, much more glamorous and much more luxurious…a new elixir of life reserved exclusively for us. Deliciously opulent and sophisticated, bedecked in extremely feminine finery, it provides the energy and effervescence needed by those who want to become one of us. A collection of products and prestigious ingredients in the fragrance includes: Lemon, Guava, Mandarin, Liquorice, Aloe, White flowers (Lily, Jasminum Sambac, Indian Tuberose), Musk and Sandalwood. The flask is dressed in brown fishnet with a shiny long golden chain and the ad has a Roaring 20s boudoir look- the scent is a fruity floral smell. Watch the commercial here.

Thierry Mugler “Angel” Fragrance Relaunch Breakfast

A couple of weeks back, September 7th to be exact, I was invited along with other beauty bloggers to experience the relaunch of the Thierry Mugler “Angel” fragrance. At the breakfast the “Angel” team presented the new commercial endorsed by Naomi Watts, she’s the new Thierry Mugler brand ambassador and also had the opportunity to try out the new body lotion. It’s been 16 years since the birth of Angel and they’re back with a new formulation that will last longer. The new “textured perfume” features the Intense Diffusion System (IDS) so that the fragrance is reactivated throughout the day according to your body temperature- so you’ll get a burst of fragrance when you need it most! The fragrance is a delicious chocolate smell, just like the original Angel- not to mention the beautiful iconic star packaging. Look out for the newly formulated Angel fragrance at Nordstrom in October, they will be the first to sell it!

La Voce by Renée Fleming Fragrance Launch Event

Last night I was invited to attend a private cocktail party in celebration of La Voce by Renée Fleming, a new limited edition prestige scent honoring Metropolitan Opera star soprano, Renée Fleming. La Voce translates into voice in English, a name that is a perfect marriage with Renée Fleming. “La Voce opens with top notes of passion fruit and white truffle accord and transcends to a rich floral heart of jasmine and lily of the valley. Notes of dark chocolate mousse and ebony wood winds complete this luxurious fragrance. The fragrance’s debut will coincide with the Metropolitan Opera’s Opening Night Gala on September 22, 2008, starring Renée Fleming performing in three of her most acclaimed roles, in fully staged scenes.” In late fall, look out for the fragrance at select high-end retailers worldwide including Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman and Harrods, in addition to the Metropolitan Opera’s Web site and its Lincoln Center shop in New York City. Coty, Inc. will be donating a portion of proceeds from sales of the fragrance to the Metropolitan Opera. The fragrance 50ml eau de parfum retail at $200.

The cocktail party was held at The Metropolitan Opera Club with Renée Fleming and Steve Mormoris, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing for Coty Beauty hosting. The smell of the fragrance is feminine and subtle, just like how I like it- I’m not a strong fragrance person. The packaging is designed to resemble the opera house and the bottle design was inspired by a chandelier at the Met that includes a wearable brooch. I can’t wait to wear the brooch out, it’s so nice and the fragrance is definitely a scent that can be worn everyday.
