March 7, 2008 - Macau, Hotel Lisboa

The day before Carla and Thomas’ wedding, B and I took the ferry to Macau to prepare and chill. Checked into Hotel Lisboa, complimentary of Carla and then ate a quick lunch at Edo Japanese Restaurant (I think that’s the name) in the hotel, we were starving! After lunch, I followed Carla’s Macau Guide she wrote for me (she’s born in Macau) and headed to Ruins of St. Paul’s to do some sightseeing! As we were walking down to the Church there were tons of souvenir shops, mostly the famous Koi Kei Bakery, there’s a billion of them with famous Almond Cookies, Pork Jerky and other snacks for tourists to purchase home - they offer tasting too (free of charge)!

After a long day of sightseeing and walking, we had a quick dinner then met up with Carla, Thomas and their family for a rundown of the wedding. I was so happy to see Carla, haven’t seen her for about a year, I miss her already! I took a lot of pics but here’s a quick preview of my day at Macau. Stay tuned for her wedding pics, I will post my dress and her dresses, so please be patient haha.

Rundown of day:

  1. Hong Kong to Macau
  2. Hotel Lisboa - Macau
  3. Edo Japanese Restaurant @ Hotel Lisboa (lunch)
  4. Koi Kei Bakery
  5. Sightseeing: Ruins of St. Paul’s

Hong Kong Trip Day #3 - 03.06.2008

img_3368.jpg
March 6, 2008 - Hong Kong @ Bauhinia Restaurant

A quick update before I head out of my hotel in Macau and enjoy the sun and place, the wedding was awesome yesterday (pics coming soon). I’m so happy for my hun, Carla and her hubby, Thomas, they finally ‘hoi fa geet gwall’ (some Chinese term) - I am so happy she chose me as her Maid of Honor, she is definitely one of my closest closet friends! We talk every single day, it feels weird not talking to her sometimes haha! I’ll be to LA soon to visit you hun!

I’m getting a bit overwhelmed with the amount of pictures I’ve taken in Hong Kong and Macau from the past few days (haha), so bear with me as I update you guys on my trip. Had my first meal of Roast GOOSE over Rice in HK, it’s one my fave dishes here - can’t find that in NYC (there’s only Roast Duck in NYC). I’m craving for some more, I’ll prolly have some when I get back to HK tomorrow - I’m basically going to eat so much Roast Goose that I’ll be sick of it when I leave HK, so I won’t crave it in a long time haha!

I’m a bit behind, every night I come back to the hotel/home, I’m mad beat, I basically knock the hell out! Are you guys enjoying this? If not I won’t bother haha…LET ME KNOW!

Rundown of the day:

  1. Lunch at Bauhinia Restaurant
  2. Tour of Meat Market
  3. Lai Chi Kok Park
  4. H&M - Langham Place
  5. Random pics at Mongkok
  6. Hui Lau San
  7. Sneaker Street, Women’s Market, Argyle Center and Shanghai Po Po (dinner) - will be posted separately, stay tuned!

More updates tonight, I need to get ready now! Added some more pics after the jump…

Hong Kong Trip Day #2 - 03.05.2008

March 5, 2008 - Hong Kong

These past two days in HK I’ve been coming home mad beat, I think starting tomorrow I’m going to take it easy haha. It’s always like that for me, once I get to HK I tend to want to do everything all in one day. There’s just so much to do and see, I feel like a child going to the playground. For HK locals, do you recommend me going to Disneyland? I’m def going to check out Ocean Park, gotta see the Pandas haha! Any places you guys have to recommend to eat, see or shop? Holla at your gurl!

On my second day here in Hong Kong, I didn’t start shopping yet but already done a lot of walking. At lunch near where I’m staying, went to run a few errands for my parents at the Immigration Office in Wanchai. Afterwards went to see one of my closet friends, Trish over at her crib. We chit chatted for a good few hours and I played with her babies (she had two Chihuahuas but just added another to the family, now 3) - they’re super cute. Then B and I left her crib to head down to Causeway Bay to eat at one of my fave restaurants, Delicious Kitchen. Everyone must try if you’re visiting HK, the Pork Chop over Vegetable Rice is the bombs! I’m really tired, gonna hit the sack so I’ll update more tomorrow!

Rundown of day:

  1. Lunch at Fortune Restaurant
  2. Shopping at Wellcome Supermarket
  3. Headed to Wanchai
  4. Met up with Trish and chilled at her pad
  5. Headed to Causeway Bay
  6. Dinner at Delicious Kitchen (CWB)

Depart NYC: 03.03.2008 // Arrive HK: 03.04.2008

March 3, 2008: At the airport waiting for my flight to Hong Kong…

A bit behind on my travel posts as I am trying to adjust to things in Hong Kong and at the same time have fun haha! Take a peek at the day of my departure from NYC to the first night (arrived at around 8:30pm March 4, 2008 Hong Kong time) in Hong Kong - obviously dropped off my luggages at my friend’s crib (my gurl Eva lent me here whole apt, she lives in NYC but has a crib in HK - bigups to her) then went downstairs to fill the stomach before hittin’ the sack. Eva’s crib is quite far but I ain’t complaining, some of the restaurants don’t have English names so I can’t provide them to you guys.

By the way, do you guys like my new haircut? I had a cut and dye (same color) before I left for my trip. What I love about my new cut is that I can wear my bangs two ways, 1) my usual side swept look or 2) a fringe. I’m enjoying it at the moment.

Valentine’s Day Dinner @ AJ’s Steakhouse

AJ’s Steakhouse
Hard Rock Hotel

Las Vegas, NV 89169

The Scene
Old Vegas lives here in all its upholstered, dimly lit glory! You’ll find a classic and simple menu at AJ’s that regularly draws a hip crowd. Rich booths, starched white table linens, and great service make for the start of a perfect Hard Rock night. Order a martini and a Filet Mignon—medium rare—and hoist one for ‘ol Blue Eyes! - AJ’s Steakhouse

For Valentine’s Day (02.14.2008) dinner B took me to AJ’s Steakhouse at the Hard Rock Hotel, the menu is classic and simple like AJ’s says. The restaurant was packed with couples and big parties that night, but we were seated pretty quickly even without reservations (about 30 mins wait). I was feeling for some Surf & Turf that night and I was so glad I ordered it, it was pretty amazing though the portions was a bit big (I keep forgetting its Vegas, every meal is huge!). Shared some of my food with B and he also ordered the Kobe Strip which was damn amazing too! The meal was great, after all the food consumption we both had food coma haha! If you’re in Vegas def stop in for a nice dinner, I would go back next time! Peep the meal after the jump…

Camp Beverly Hills Dinner at Postrio

img_2713.jpg
Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio Restaurant | Cafe @ The Venetian - Tuesday, February 12th

Matt and Camp Beverly Hills invited the crew out to a big fancy dinner on the 3rd night we were in town, dinner took place at Postrio in the Venetian. We had a private room with three big tables and lots and lots of good food! I had a great time chillin’, eating and chit chatting with the peeps at my table, it was mad chills. I was overwhelmed with the food, rounds and rounds of hor d’oeuvres came flowing thru to keep us happy while they prepare our dinner. The food was pretty good, I’d def recommend this spot if you’re in town. We all got food coma after the meal, it was satisfying for sure!

Chung Moo Ro Barbecue - 01.17.2008

Chung Moo Ro Barbecue

New York, NY 10001

After watching the Cloverfield screening, we were craving for some Korean bbq so went to eat dinner at Chung Moo Ro Barbecue. I’m not very familiar with the restaurants in K-Town, I’ve only tried a couple (got any good recommendations?). They all seem to be pretty good and most of them are open 24 hours which is very convenient. We left the choice of restaurant up to my bro, he chose Chung Moo Ro Barbecue, it was directly across from Kunjip and Pinkberry. The place was pretty big and the menu was huge too, we ordered a bunch of food to share. The side dishes they provide were crazy, there was so much that you can get full from it alone, I steered away from most of it. Overall the service and food was pretty good, the price was moderate. I would def go back for dinner again! Peep the pics after the jump…
