Didn’t get a chance to post the Lucky Shops 2009 VIP Shopping Party recap, been busy packing and getting ready for LA (there now!). Lucky Magazine invited me to my first Lucky Shops shopping experience this past Thursday, it was a bit overwhelming when I got there but after walking through it once I got the hang of it. There’s a lot of vendors there, great stuff for amazing prices at up to 75% off retail. I was so tempted to buy but am saving so held myself back, but my girl Simone bought an amazing Timeless by Naeem Khan for HSN Sequin Top for $150 which I’m envy of, seriously hotness! Tomorrow is the last day to shop if you haven’t already, to purchase tickets visit www.luckyshops.com or call 1.866.4LUCKYU. Saturday Shop-a-thon • November 7 • 11AM – 5PM Location: Metropolitan Pavilion – 125 West 18th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues), NYC More pics after the jump…
Halloween was great this year, the rain passed and it wasn’t too cold out. This year I decided not to spend extra money to get a costume, so I whipped up something quite last minute from my closet. Since my friends wanted to be vampires, I decided to go with the Gothic Vampire look. I finally got to wear my COMME des GARCONS for H&M showpiece which I got last year, it’s been sitting in my closet lol. It was so perfect for my Gothic Vampire look, it was meant to be. Lanie did my makeup and I lent her my H&M clothes haha, even exchange. I’ve also gotten quite used to my vampire fangs, although talking was a bit difficult, my friends were all laughing at me when I was slurring. Fun times, loved being a vampire! How was your Halloween? More pics after the jump…
Last night Diesel hosted a rave party to celebrate the launch of the Flash For Fun collection at Love with black lights, glow-in-the-dark makeup and a bunny passing out flashing accessories to enhance the party experience. It was crazy, I had lots of fun despite the sucky rainy weather out, luckily I didn’t have to wait in line to get in the club. Once I got in, I got my glow-in-the-dark false eyelashes on and went all out with the glow stick accessories. It was def the “glow-in-the-dark” tour at Love haha. More pics after the jump…
It’s Hello Kitty’s 35th Anniversary and SANRIO is celebrating in a big way, collaborating with 80 popular artists to celebrate. In addition to launching a variety of special, limited edition products, SANRIO will introduce Three Apples, a multi-dimensional exhibition and celebration of all things Hello Kitty running from October 23 to November 15 at Royal/T in Culver City, CA. Royal/T is the visually stunning and playful, 10,000 square foot Japanese-inspired art exhibition space, retail store and “cosplay” maid café, located within the city’s vibrant arts community. Three Apples, named as a nod to Hello Kitty’s weight as listed in her official bio – features an unprecedented lineup of over 80 celebrated artists, who’ve been invited to interpret their creative vision of Hello Kitty in unique, original works that will be on display and for sale. The art exhibition at Three Apples will be curated by Jamie Rivadeneira, owner of JapanLA, a Los Angeles boutique that specializes in “cute” Japanese and American products. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the artwork will benefit L.A. Works, a volunteer action center that creates and implements hands-on community service projects throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Some of the featured artists include: Amada Visell, Colin Christian, Buff Monster, Frank Kozik, Friends With You (FWY), Gary Baseman, Huck Gee, Luke Chueh, Natalia Fabia, Ron English, Simone Legno and Tara McPherson. This is the first time that SANRIO has produced an event for the Hello Kitty fans in North America. The exhibition as well as all events will be open to the public, free of charge and will offer something for all Hello Kitty fans, no matter their age. Limited edition prints of selected artwork will released at special events during Three Apples. Royal/T More pics and schedule after the jump…
In its fourth year Heineken Red Star Soul continues to deliver on its foundation of “Music, Recognition and Respect” by showcasing the best talents in hip-hop and R&B. Taking place in 9 cities across the county, this past Friday the Heineken Red Star Soul returns to NYC where hip-hop all started with a private concert at Gotham Hall. The invite-only crowd drank unlimited Heinekens and enjoyed musical performances by Estelle, Wale, Ludacris along with special guest NAS. Guests that were in attendance include Q-TIP, Charlie Murphy, Consequence, Mario Lopez, Tyson Beckford, Adrienne Bailon and most surprisingly Emmy Rossum (lol). The performances were popping, everyone got super excited when Ludacris brought out NAS, but as usual NAS never remembers his lyrics lol. I got some video footage for Ludacris and NAS, peep them below and enjoy! More pics after the jump… |
