Lil Wayne Kicks off SPECTRE By SUPRA in Miami
Photo via my Instagram @nitro_licious

This past weekend I was in Miami for Lil Wayne’s kick-off party for his new footwear company, SPECTRE by SUPRA. At the event BJ Betts was giving free tattoos to guests and at the end of the night Lil Wayne tatted BJ Betts with his signature. The event was packed with friends and guests to celebrate the award-winning artist’s latest footwear venture. Some of the guests included Bun B, skaters Chaz Ortiz, Stevie Williams and Chad Muska, etc. Lil Wayne showed up rockin’ his new Chimera mid top, the first shoe from SPECTRE by SUPRA (release date May 18th). To top off an evening of unexpected moments Lil Wayne announced that Chaz Ortiz would be riding for SPECTRE. Fun times!

Coty Delete Blood Cancer/DKMS 7th Annual Gala 2013

For the fifth year, I was honored to be invited by Coty to be their guest at the 7th annual Coty-Delete Blood Cancer/DKMS Gala (note change of name). The gala was held at Cipriani Wall Street, and was hosted by TV personality and celebrity designer Nate Berkus and co-Founder of Delete Blood Cancer, Katharina Harf, with special live performances by Grammy Award–winning artists Jill Scott and Lady Antebellum. Celebrity and designer guests included Katy Perry, Anja Rubik, Coco Rocha, Georgia May Jagger, Vera Wang, amongst others.

It was a magical night, especially when the donor meets the person whom he/she saved for the first time, it brought tears to many eyes. Definitely an unselfish act, very emotional. And how gorgeous was the atmosphere, the stage setup was so amazing especially when the light changes!

Special thanks to Coty and Delete Blood Cancer for helping to fight against blood cancer, to learn more visit www.deletebloodcancer.org.

Opening Ceremony x American Express Shopping & Styling Event

Last Thursday, Opening Ceremony and American Express invited me to an exclusive preview and shopping event at Opening Ceremony’s four-story flagship store in New York. At the event OC’s co-founder, Carol Lim talked about her inspiration and design process for the Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Guests were also able to pre-order FW13 pieces as well as get a special 20% discount off to American Express Cardmembers for all items in the store (excluding the FW13 collection).

I love the women’s FW13 collection, inspired by the City of Sin – Las Vegas, the collection channels the radiant Strip and its high-energy decadence through opulent fabrics, such as lush furs and satins, exuberant embellishments and eye-catching graphic prints. The color palette includes jewel tones of crimson, bordeaux, indigo, plum and crystal blue. If you didn’t attend the event, be sure to check out the collection at Opening Ceremony and select retailers beginning in August 2013.

American Express made this event possible. Opening Ceremony is part of a program at American Express where they celebrate Cardmembers and their sources of inspiration and follow the creative process.

Nike launched an updated versions of the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Air Max 95 and Air Max 97 with this new mesh. At the event I also got my nails did by Wah Nails, creating designs inspired by Nike Air Max. I went with the Air Max 95 design, loved it! Great event and fun times with all my friends from all over the world! Check out the recap after the jump…

HP Art of Fashion Event Recap
Photos courtesy of Style Coalition

Last night Style Coalition hosted the Art of Fashion for the viewing party of Project Runway presented by HP, at the Style Coalition Lounge. Guests were challenged to create a look inspired by Project Runway’s episode centered around mid-century art at The Guggenheim, all the looks created by the guests were very inspiring (see all the photos here). HP and Intel have always been about innovation so this was a perfect way for guests to show how innovative their designs were that night. The best design won the latest HP ENVY X2, which was the featured PC used in the Project Runway episode. It is not just a powerful notebook but its great design was created to meet people’s technology needs in any situation necessary, utilizing itself not only as a notebook, but also as a tablet. The HP/Intel Challenge provides the designers a way to create their own patterns, using the HP Touch smart Desktop.
