Me and Christine (Complex) ~ so jealous of her fab Maison Martin Margiela Sandal Ankle Bootie!

After breakfast with Louis Vuitton, I went home to rest up a little before the LRG x Courvoisier Exclusif Party hosted by Complex at Reed Space later on at night. I did a change up with my outfit, kept my H&M top on but threw on my lame’ legging, gladiator sandals and switched to a smaller bag to make the look a bit more fun for the night. When I got there, the party was already jammed packed with people chilling and sipping on Courvoisier, it was so crowded it felt like a sauna up in there but Just Blaze kept the party bumpin’. Regardless of the heat, people were enjoying themselves and even DJ Clark Kent and Shan Foster came through to show some luv. Bigups to my gurl Christine from Complex for another dope party!

Breakfast with Louis Vuitton

p1000294.jpg
Tina and me at the breakfast

Yesterday I was invited to have breakfast with Louis Vuitton’s CEO of North America, Daniel Lalonde and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communication, Heather Vandenberghe, along with their team to have an intimate conversation about “my world”, the blogging world. A selected group of bloggers including myself were handpicked and invited to join them in a round table discussion about the blogging community and how LV can better communicate with us to deliver their message to the consumers. I was a bit surprised when I received an invitation but at the same time excited and eager to find out what they’re up to. Since the blogosphere is growing rapidly and blogs are more organic than glossies, it’s no wonder why LV wants to know how they can work with us. I’m so glad that they’re acknowledging the importance of blogs and what the internet can bring, its a great start. I also think it is essential for them to receive feedback through comments on the blogs about their products, campaigns and anything related to them whatsoever, on the blogs its a two way communication versus the one way communication through fashion magazines. We’ve touched on many topics and gave suggestions and feedback, too much that I regret I didn’t bring a recorder to record the discussion. I was also quite impressed to hear that Daniel and Heather actually reads all the comments sent through to their customer service center. It was an eye-opener for me and I definitely learned something new. It was a pleasure to meet the LV team and the wonderful bloggers, Tina from Bag Snob, Daniel from Fashion Indie, Rebecca from Fab Sugar, Lesley from Fashion Tribes, Aaron from Haute Concept and a few others! This is the beginning of something wonderful!

The Director of Advertising, Eric Lichtmess gave us a tip that their next Journeys campaign will consists of a couple. Can you guess who? I automatically thought it might be Brad and Angelina or The Beckhams, stay tuned for that…

My first LV bag was a Speedy 30 passed on from my mom, I still have it and its still in great shape. Then as I started working my collection started to grow and so did hers. The LV x Murakami ‘LV Hands’ Neverfull is currently my prized possession, I wore that bag along with my H&M floral printed top (courtesy of H&M) - the vivid colors were a perfect match. I also felt very good when I stepped into the breakfast, the LV team was raving about the bag too. My collection consists of mostly the Monogram Canvas, it’s a classic and you can’t go wrong with it. It’s crazy but I have to say their goods lasts a very long time, I had my wallet for over a decade and its the only wallet I use - it still in great shape and it doesn’t even look that old! BTW did I ever mention that while I was in Hong Kong, I’ve noticed that about every 5 out of 10 girls owned a Neverfull? My friend that lives in Beijing said it’s the “official” bag of Asia, it’s totally sold out so when he came to NYC he headed straight to a LV store to buy his wife one - how bizarre is that? How many LV bags do you own?

Casio G-Shock 25th Anniversary Party

p1000259.jpg

To commemorate the Casio G-Shock’s 25th Anniversary, last night they threw a huge party at Guastavino’s to celebrate. Big names like Spike Lee, Eric Haze and Kanye West were amongst the guests that showed up along with VIPs, trendsetters, “streetwear” heads, magazines and friends came to party and to watch the special performance given by none other than Kanye West. At the beginning of the event we were given a press conference about G-Shock, educating us about the history and how it all started. Surprisingly it was quite amusing and interesting, the execs were all very humorous as well! Afterwards, we all were escorted downstairs to have a drink, enjoy the hor’dourves and chit-chat until Kanye is ready.

Finally, Kanye came out to entertain the crowd at around 10:15pm it was definitely worth the wait. He put on an amazing show as usual, his style was on point with his crisp white hi-top Christian Dior kickz and not to mention those dope shades he was rocking most of the night - you already people’s gonna start rocking b/c he did (perhaps they’re from the Ksubi for Pastelle collaboration?). The performance was crazy, if you were there you’d know what I’m talking about! SICK!!! Bigups to Sneaker John for reaching high to take pics for me, it was too difficult for a shorty haha. Thank you to G-Shock for inviting me to a memorable night and I left with a nice little gift box that consisted of the white 25th anniversary G-Shock watch and a t-shirt designed by Haze.

Louis Vuitton is always on the verge of bringing new innovative ideas to the luxury goods market, starting on June 16th for $17 you can experience “it’s most affordable travel-themed product yet”. H&M Summer 2008 Launch Party

img_0009.jpg
Jennifer/H&M & Me

Last night I was at the H&M Summer 2008 Luxury Leisure collection launch party at the fab Gramercy Park Hotel Roof Deck. The roof deck and garden is amazing, too bad the weather wasn’t so great if it was all the glass would retract and we’ll be able to feel the summer breeze. The party was bumpin’ with live DJ spinning and open bar along with fashionistas strolling up and down the roof top. It was a great night, I caught up with Jennifer from H&M (thanks), met two new friends, Nana from Bluefly and Alexis from AOL Black Voices. Nana even gave me a shout-out on flypaper, FAB! I was in a great mood last night, had many compliments on my outfit - do I even need to mention where I copped my floral dress?

After the H&M party, I went downstairs to chit-chat and have a drink at Wakiya. I called it a night after…

Zune Arts Film - “Mother Like No Other”

bouquet.jpeg

To commemorate Mother’s Day this year, Parisian artist Yves Geleyn and New York indie pop duo the bird and the bee team up for the new Zune Arts film, “Mother Like No Other”. A tale of just how far a beaver will go to share the perfect gift with mom, the film features a cut-and-paste look reminiscent of an elementary school art project. Geleyn achieves this effect by animating a collage made out of 2D and 3D elements, including fabric, textured papers, and photographs.
