Tropic Thunder - Alpa Chino’s Booty Sweat!

p1060161.jpg

Ever since I’ve watched Tropic Thunder about a month ago, July 16th to be exact- I’ve been itching to watch it AGAIN! I never watched a movie twice in such a short period of time, let alone at the theater twice!! The movie was so good I had to watch it AGAIN and it was just as funny as the first time, I can seriously watch it again haha! Earlier this week I brought my gurl Minya to watch the screening with me, courtesy of Mark Kwan and DreamWorks, as we walked in to the screening he handed us a bottle of Booty Sweat! We were both dying in the movie, Minya loved it too! You can actually cop Alpa Chino’s Booty Sweat at Amazon.com, I think I need a case just because…

Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time and the best comedy movie so far- mad surprises, so don’t miss out on this one! The movie opened today, go watch it!!! If you guys watch it, let me know what you think of the movie!!

New York & Company Fall 2008 Collection Preview + Lookbook

p1040413.jpg
Rockin’ pieces from the Fall collection!

Last month New York & Company held an editor preview to showcase their Fall 2008 collection and Fall ad campaign. New York & Company launched a new brand initiative along with a new label dubbed Red Label launching this Fall. The new brand is geared to target the trade-down customer and their current customer, it is more fashion and trend focused but is about 20-25% higher price point than their current offering. Still everything is quite affordable, the bomber jacket retail at $79.95- def my fave piece.

Before going to the preview I didn’t know what to expect since I’m don’t shop there but after previewing the new collection it looks like they’ve definitely improved their looks. The new range looks a lot younger and more fun- not their usual looks. That night I tried on several of the Fall pieces with the fab ladies at New York & Company, it was a fun night of fashion, food and gifts! When the collection releases, I’ll def pick up a few pieces. What do you think of the new collection?

The Fall and Red Label collections will start rolling out in stores on September 15th! Be sure to check out the NY&C Fall 2008 Lookbook on page 2 and 3!

Outfit 08.03.2008 ~ Farewell…

p1040688.jpg

On Sunday I met up with YM and Mark after lunch to played Wii Fit (I’m still aching) and Mario Kart, my body is still aching- its sooooo fun! Afterward, we met up with Rosena and Sunny at Dave & Buster’s (courtesy of Dave & Buster’s / Mark) for my good friend Helen’s farewell dinner! Helen is off to Asia to get more materials to produce Redpanda Village bags, I’m so excited for her but I’m going to miss her! Come back soon!

After dinner, we decided to watch The Dark Knight. I really wanted to watch it in IMAX but it was still sold out so I finally gave in and watched it! The movie is so amazing, Joker (Heath Ledger) is fantastic- it makes me a bit sad that he is no longer here (RIP) but we’ll never forget! I hardly ever watch movies twice in theaters but this movie I can, looking forward to watching it again in an IMAX theater.

Let’s Get Intimate With…Dee and Ricky of Jackson Swinton

Interview with Dee and Ricky of Jackson Swinton

Interviewed by Tom Bradley
Photography from M David Leeds
Produced by Wendy L.

*I APPRECIATE THE LUV FROM YOUR SITE, BUT PLEASE REFRAIN FROM COPYING THE ENTIRE INTERVIEW/IMAGES TO YOUR SITE/BLOG. A LINKBACK TO THE INTERVIEW IS GREATLY APPRECIATED IF YOU’RE USING MY INFO. THANKS.*

I first met Dee and Ricky when I went on the Camp Beverly Hills “Class Trip” in Vegas for Magic back in February. They are an eclectically colorful and high-energy set of twins and two-thirds of the rap and dance group Jackson Swinton. The Twins, as they are known throughout the downtown scene, have garnered the attention and affection of the fashion and music communities with their unparalleled style and energy. They have appeared in fashion spreads and advertisements in the world’s most influential style magazines. They have had their portrait painted by renowned fine artist Kehinde Wiley and have popped up in advertising campaigns for Puma, Nike, Supreme, and A New York Thing, as well as in editorials for Teen Vogue, The New York Post and Paper Magazine. Recently, the Twins’ accessories – belts and brooches by Dee and Ricky- were commissioned by renowned fashion designer Marc Jacobs for his New York Fashion WeekSpring 2008 rtwrunway show.

It’s been a good few months working on this interview with The Twins and they’re the first males to be featured on nitro:licious, that makes them extra special- I just love their accessories so much I had to! They’ve talked with me about their rising cult fame and the release of their first EP on Business Class Records. Here’s your chance to get a better understanding of them. Big thanks to Matt Goias, Pam Bristow and Phillip Leeds for all the help.

Nike Olympic Dim Sum Luncheon

p1040599.jpg
Rockin’ the Nike Sportswear China Windrunner that was gifted to us! Dope!

Despite the thunderstorms yesterday, nothing held us back to attend the Nike Olympic Dim Sum Luncheon at Golden Bridge Restaurant in Chinatown. Nike invited 50 guests (mainly Chinese) for an afternoon of Dim Sum and Lion Dance entertainment to celebrate Chinese athletes as they prepare for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing- which is just a few days away (08.08.08). We were gifted with exclusive Nike Sportswear products- China T-Shirt and China Windrunner (as shown above). It was definitely a great event to build energy among the Chinese in the industry, it was fun and entertaining. What more can you ask when you’re fed, dressed and entertained? Thanks for the great luncheon Nike and Tony!
