Baby Phat/KLS by Kimora Lee Simmons Spring 2009 After Show Party

p1090112.jpg

Rewind back two weeks, September 12th, I went to my last fashion show of the season- the Baby Phat / KLS by Kimora Lee Simmons Spring 2009 Collection at Roseland Ballroom. For Baby Phat’s 10th Anniversary the fashion show had DJ Cassidy djing live and a star studded front row, the collection was an improvement from her previous seasons- most of the pieces are wearable. There were a few good looks, like the first sparkly dress and the safari-inspired pieces, the lineup consists of lots of purple, green, peach and blue. The after show party was super fab, it was held at The Plaza Hotel- that place is amazing! It was definitely a good ending to New York Fashion Week, till next season…

Thierry Mugler “Angel” Fragrance Relaunch Breakfast

Thierry Mugler’s “Angels” (jk) ~ Amber, Alexis and Me

A couple of weeks back, September 7th to be exact, I was invited along with other beauty bloggers to experience the relaunch of the Thierry Mugler “Angel” fragrance. At the breakfast the “Angel” team presented the new commercial endorsed by Naomi Watts, she’s the new Thierry Mugler brand ambassador and also had the opportunity to try out the new body lotion. It’s been 16 years since the birth of Angel and they’re back with a new formulation that will last longer. The new “textured perfume” features the Intense Diffusion System (IDS) so that the fragrance is reactivated throughout the day according to your body temperature- so you’ll get a burst of fragrance when you need it most! The fragrance is a delicious chocolate smell, just like the original Angel- not to mention the beautiful iconic star packaging. Look out for the newly formulated Angel fragrance at Nordstrom in October, they will be the first to sell it!

Check out some of the pics I shot below and also the new commercial featuring Naomi Watts (beautiful!!) after the jump…

Model.Live

Model.Live Episode 1

Has anyone followed the three models on Vogue’s online reality series Model.Live? The 12-week, 14-episode online series, which follows the three girls, Austria Alcantara, Cato van Ee and Madeline Kragh as they strut runways around the world. I’ve missed out on it since I hardly have time to watch tv, but there are 7 episodes already with each episode less than 8 mins. I think I can sit down and finish up all the episodes today, viewers can also interact with the models and receive updates on their activities through diaries, text messages, photos, blogs, and schedules. They can also visit the show’s Bebo profile page to comment on each model’s progress, post messages of encouragement and provide advice. What do you guys think? Do you like it?

Anna Sui Fall 2008 Collection Launch Party

anna-sui-wendy-lam.jpg

Last week on September 11th, the day after the Anna Sui Spring 2009 RTW runway show, Anna Sui held an in-store party at her SoHo store for invited guests to preview the new Fall 2008 collection. The store was jammed packed with customers, friends, family and Anna Sui herself- she was there the entire time! I got a chance to meet Anna Sui and introduced myself and nitro:licious to her- hopefully she’ll check it my site out! Anna Sui also debuted her new nail polish collection that day- everyone was racking up on it, the nail polish were filled in rose bottles- they were so pretty. If you wanted a Save The Garment Center T-Shirt, they’re selling them at the store for $6, I bought one to support! It was fun just hanging out at the store, the employees are super nice! Thanks to Jenny (Anna Sui) and Eva!

On The Street with Bill Cunningham (NYT) - Changing of Sky High Shoes

bill-cunningham-shoes-02.jpg

If there was one common thing that most of the women did at New York Fashion Week, it was what New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham captured- the changing of the sky high shoes before and after a fashion show. That was definitely one thing I was doing, I couldn’t bear walking up the stairs and walking too long in heels- I’d always stash away my flip flops when I get into the Bryant Park Tent. And I’ve seen a ton of women doing the same thing, quite funny I have to say- but hey anything to make your feet feel better.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, the handbag is less important and the shoe and the long stretch of leg has arrived in New York like a tornado force. The women are all in these spidery strapped shoes, usually black, very high heels. All over the city you’ll seem them changing their shoes into comfy flats and putting the high heels away.” - Bill Cunningham

I still haven’t been able to catch up on all the runway shows from New York Fashion Week and we’re now at day 2 of London Fashion Week- so I’ll be skipping around. This morning in London the adidas by Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2009 Collection unveiled with a presentation at “Stella’s Gym”. Now entering it’s ninth season, the adidas by Stella McCartney Collection continues to be the leader in chic style meets performance gear- definitely my choice of workout gear if I worked out (haha)! Since I don’t really workout, I opt to rock the gear for everyday wear like most people, it’s too pretty to sweat in them! The brand also introduced the new adidas by Stella McCartney personal trainer, Tracy Anderson, a personal trainer to celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and Stella herself!

“This collection tries to provide for all the needs of a modern woman. Style meets performance is crucial for women today, and I’ve tried to address this in my most recent collection. Remembering you’re alive is key, health is wealth!” says Stella McCartney.

The new Spring/Summer 2009 range continues to re-define and challenge traditional sport silhouettes with the new collection featuring sheer, lightweight performance fabrics and constructed design features taking inspiration from Atlantic sailing adventures in the new Gym Studio range and ornate English Edwardian petticoats and nightwear in the prints and cuts of the Tennis line. This season, the best-selling Running range mixes energetic and bold block colors with sheer, futuristic lightweight fabrics with drawstring detail to create gathering and volume for stylish, sophisticated silhouettes. Alongside this season’s latest Gym Studio, Tennis and Running collections, the range continues to offer the categories Golf, Gym Yoga, Gym Dance, Swim and Cover Ups.

Stella never fails to be on top of the game when it comes to “style meets performance”, the new collection is the perfect marriage of ultra-feminine looks x sporty chick. Does it make you want to workout? Come February 2009, the collection will hit Harrods, Holt Renfrew, Nordstrom, as well as adidas Sport Performance stores. You can also check out the video from the event here.
