Nike continues on with the release of the women’s 1987 Aerofit High with a winterized version for the Holiday season. This pair features a green synthetic nubuck on the front and ballistic nylon on the back half of the upper along with bright mandarin orange on the outsole and lining to give it a little pop. Another dope release of one of my favorite styles the Nike WMNS Blazer High, which is inspired by the zodiac Capricorn- according to Laurel this is the last of the year long “zodiac” story. The metallic silver elephant print on top of the grey background is AMAZING- def gives it a “pop”, in certain angles you can see speckles of baby blue in the cracks which makes it even more dope. This bad boy is sure to turn heads and hurt some feelings- especially the boys since it’s a women’s shoe. Look out for these at Nike retailers come December, don’t sleep on these! These officially nicknamed these the “Elephant Capricorn”, can’t wait to rock ‘em. Big thanks to Laurel for constantly whipping up hot designs and hooking up the dope shoes xoxo!

Last week I received my copy of Nina Garcia’s latest book The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own in the mail and couldn’t wait to start checking off “The One Hundred” must have items from A-Z. Luckily I already own a lot of the items already, but there are still more to work on! I am still going through the book, its so fun to read. The hardcover is fabulous too, covered in silver with black and pink letters along with witty illustrations by Ruben Toledo. The book is a must read, it’s a shopping list of timeless must haves that a stylish women should own in their closet.

If you’re constantly asking yourself, “What are fashion’s timeless pieces?”, perhaps this book is a great start. Ultimately, like Nina Garcia says, “There is no ultimate list, as it would go against the very nature of fashion and style, and the frenetic rebelliousness inherent in a truly stylish woman walking down the street wearing that perfectly unexpected mix of color and fabric. Style is dangerously unpredictable.” I agree with her 100% on that, if everyone was to follow a book to get dressed- everyone would look the same. The next pair of dope kicks I received is this pair of Nike WMNS Air Assault High basketball shoe which is a new addition to my family of kicks. This classic basketball shoe brings a little fashion to the super boyish model featuring tortoise, metallic gold detailing and a metallic gold swoosh to give it a modern twist. Definitely an interesting pair, look out for these come November. Thanks to Laurel once again, she always has the magic touch!

Some dopeness arrived at my doorstep last week, although I was never a big fan of Nike Vandal Highs- this gold pair made me double take and definitely changed my mind! This Nike Vandal High features a high gloss finish made of synthetic coated knit in gold with silver detailing which was inspired by Moncler (which I love as well), it will also be available in silver. The high gloss finish is extremely sleek and the puffiness of the material gives it a “bubble” feel, it looks like a bubble jacket for your feet- so amazing.

The Vandal High in the gold and silver pairs are a quickstrike for women with a limited run of 1500 pairs and will be available in women’s sizes 5-12. Don’t sleep on this gold pair, they’re my current obsession- it’s slated to release in late December! Shortly after the release of the two quickstrikes, in February 2009 they go in-line to the masses in white, red and purple. Thanks to my gurl Laurel for the hotness, awesome kicks! Yesterday was a busy day, went to check out the Casio G-Shock Winter Collection Preview (stay tuned for that) and the Creative Recreation Holiday ‘08 Collection Preview (will be posted shortly). Both have dope stuff coming out. It was fun times with The Foundation girls and Dre was looking dope in his new Creative Recreation basic white perforated kicks! The weather has been a bit off these few days, I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather as a result. I hate the rain, the only thing that I enjoy about a rainy day in the summer is rocking a pair of nice rain boots haha. I recently received a pair of original Hunter Boots courtesy of SoleStruck.com, my first time using their services and was quite satisfied with them. SoleStruck.com specializes in the juniors market, they carry tons of new shoes from brands like Chinese Laundry, Irregular Choice, Rocket Dog, Betseyville, Jeffrey Campbell, etc. They have a wide range of brands and products, and it’s easy to shop because you can shop by color, size and style.

I’ve heard and read reviews that sizing runs big for Hunter Boots, I’m a size 6 but I wasn’t sure to order a 5 or 6. I emailed customer service to inquire and they got back to me within the hour- they’ve actually had an employee that’s the same size as me go try on the size 5 and report back. The result, I ordered the size 5 and it fit perfectly! Usually I would order two sizes, this saves me the trouble of returning or exchanging the pair that doesn’t fit.
