LeSportsac Opens New York Flagship Store

LeSportsac, the iconic lifestyle company, opened its brand new New York City flagship store located at 118 Greene Street in SoHo today. The vast new boutique will house LeSportsac Classics, Men’s and Guys, Stella McCartney for LeSportsac and the special collection Artists in Residence. It will neighbor the Louis Vuitton, Apple and Wolford shops.

The new SoHo shop will be two levels and the largest LeSportsac store in New York City. Two levels will provide the shopper with an experience of touring the LeSportsac universe, with creative installations to merchandise the various collections and display the true breadth of LeSportsac’s offerings.

Kenneth Park Architects, an internationally recognized, full service architectural firm specializing in retail, mixed use and corporate interiors and long time collaborator of LeSportsac’s, was integral in the development and execution of the concept for the new store. In a departure from all other LeSportsac flagship locations, the new space features an entirely new color and design scheme. The street level flooring is white washed oak with the LeSportsac tab logos reinterpreted into plaster relief that lines the entire double-level wall. The original staircase has been completely rebuilt and shifted to offer optimum spatial flow. In keeping with LeSportsac’s commitment to eco-friendly materials, it is encased in black faux-leather and leads to a lower level retail space also floored in black faux-leather. A hanging display of bags and accessories will adorn one wall while another will display a newly developed laser cut solid-surface “wall of light” at the entrance.

The novelty of the store is mirrored by a plan to renovate the LeSportsac shopping experience by implementing a new merchandising plan.

Coach just launched a great new online program called Coach Cares!

This program was designed to celebrate the spirit of giving with some of Coach’s favorite celebrity fans, including Jessica Alba, Elizabeth Banks, Halle Berry, Evangeline Lilly, Mandy Moore, Ali Larter, Kerry Washington and Ryan Reynolds, among others. This fashionable and philanthropic group has selected their must-have holiday items and now through December 31st 20% of proceeds of those items will be donated to that celebrity’s charity of choice. This program is super unique as it highlights not only the charitable interests of celebrities but also allows customers to get involved by making a donation on their behalf.

Track + Field (TRKFLD) Holiday 2008 Collection

The good peeps over at Track + Field (TRKFLD) has just notified me that they have released their Holiday ‘08 collection. Each piece is made from the vibrant and durable Sunbrella fabric, which is UV, fade and water resistant, the collection is fun and vivid. The new bags are due to arrive in the next few days and they have added the Lola hip pouch to their line which is available in two of the new colorways grey black white stripe and armanda citrus. MAC Cosmetics x Hello Kitty Collection

Rumors have been circulating the blogs about the MAC Cosmetics and Hello Kitty collaboration for a min already, finally the news was confirmed. The limited edition collection will be available at MAC’s website on February 10, 2009 and in MAC US stores on February 12, 2009 (just in time for Valentine’s Day too!) and overseas stores in March 2009- mark your calendars ladies this collection is going to fly off the counters! Not only did they create a range of cosmetics, there’s also a line of accessories: a Petite Makeup Bag ($22), a medium Makeup Bag ($35), a plush doll ($42), purse mirror ($22), three-brush collection ($49.50), a mirrored key clip ($16), beaded bracelet ($34), a tote ($45) and soft vanity kit ($55).

The Hello Kitty collection consists of two collections: the Hello Kitty Colour Collection and the more high-end Hello Kitty Kouture. The Hello Kitty Colour Collection includes “six shades of lipstick with names like Fashion Mews and Strayin’, each $14; six Lipglass shades, each $14; and two tinted lip conditioners, $14.50 each; two eye shadow palettes, which each contain four shades and retail for $38; two shades of pigment are $19.50 each, and two Reflects Glitter stockkeeping units — one blue, one pink — are $17.50 each. Four Glitter Eye Liners, each $16.50, two shades of Beauty Powder, each $22; three shades of nail polish, each $11; a black mascara, $12, and false lashes, $12, round out the color offerings. Shades range from pinks and turquoises to lavenders and greens.”

The Hello Kitty Kouture collection is more of a high-end line and great for collectors as well. The range consists of “two shades of Dazzleglass, each $28, each feature a reusable silver chain pendant with Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals on black with a pink crystal bow. Sheer Mystery Powder, $90 and available in three shades, is packaged in a silver powder compact with Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals with a pink crystal bow on a black background.”

While the 34-year-old Hello Kitty character is usually assumed to be a cat, she is actually a girl, according to Sanrio. And a girl without a mouth, so she “speaks from the heart,” the company said. “She may not have a mouth, but she’s going to sell a lot of lipstick,” cracked Demsey, noting that a waiting list for the items will go live on Jan. 7 at maccosmetics.com.

Two New Collabs: Felix Rey & Miss Trish of Capri for Target

Target has just announced two new accessories brands for collaborations, according to WWD Felix Rey designers Lily Band and Sulaika Zarrouk will launch a limited edition handbag collection called Felix Rey for the retailer on March 29th to June 14th. It is the seventh handbag launch in a series of limited-time-only accessories designers at Target. The second collaboration will be a limited edition shoe collection by footwear designer Trish Carroll called Miss Trish of Capri for Target. The line will be available at select Target stores nationwide and on target.com from April 5th to June 14th.

Gucci x UNICEF Tattoo Heart Collection - Available Now

The Gucci x UNICEF Tattoo Heart Collection featuring Rihanna in their ad campaign just released yesterday and is now available at Gucci stores and gucci.com/unicef. When you purchase an item from the White Tattoo Heart Collection, Gucci will donate 25% of the sale to support UNICEF programs for orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa. The collection is available for a limited of time from November 19, 2008 through to January 31, 2009.
