As some of you may know, H&M has a dedicated collection called Organic Cotton which I really like (honestly more because of the style that the organic cotton) but they have just announced “its big venture into organic cotton in all departments this Autumn. The season also heralds the start of other conscious choices of materials such as organic wool and recycled wool and recycled polyester.” You can expect both fashion items and basic garments made from organic cotton and will be labeled with special hangtags.

Here’s a preview of the women’s and men’s organic cotton, recycled wool and recycled polyester collection for Autumn ‘08.

We all went kinda crazy when we saw the H&M fall/winter ‘08 campaign pictures two weeks back, here are some more products that will be available in stores from September to October. H&M’s theme for the fall/winter season is “artistic mood”, inspired by “folk romantic, sleek and sporty, tailored retro and arty bohemian”. I really like the black/white top on the model (above), orange braided sweater and also the cropped blazer, they’re super cute!

“Global folk culture and the art world are important references this fall. It’s not just one artist or genre that inspire but the whole art scene - historic as well as contemporary”, says H&M’s new head of design Ann-Sofie Johansson.

Key items includes: Tunic, folk blouse and dress, wide trousers, wide skirt, corset, blazer, cardigan, jumper, trench coat, parka, T-shirt, jeans.

Previously I’ve posted the campaign pictures of H&M’s fall/winter ‘08 collection featuring Heather Marks which got a lot of people about it, including myself. Just to make the boys on my blog feel a bit more special I have included the menswear and campaign pictures to satisfy your needs, who’s the best (haha)? Two particular products that standout are the shiny puffer jacket and duffel bag, doesn’t it remind you of Moncler? Also, I really like the grey jacket with belt buckles by the waist, this range is quite sophisticated and tailored, expect the products to hit stores starting from September to October. Coming up next is the women’s collection preview, stay tuned

Folk romantic, sleek and sporty, tailored retro and arty bohemian inspire H&M’s design team this season. To mix a couple or why not all directions - is the way to make fashion work this autumn. Creativity is required, as well as heaps of style. via H&M

Key items include: Shirt, tailored trousers, blazer, suit, worker pants, jeans, jersey, cardigan, tank top, lumber jacket, parka, T-shirt.

First look at the H&M fall 2008 collection featuring Heather Marks, I had to double take b/c at first glance I thought it was Lily Cole! As usual H&M never disappoints I’m already hoping fall/winter will arrive soon! I NEED that jacket above, its so FIERCE - I love the big hood! The plainness and simplicity of the range reminds me a lot of COS, very proper and lots of staple items. The only thing I’m not really feeling are the pants just b/c they won’t look good on me, they seem tailored for the tall haha! The shoes in this range looks very promising although a bit designer-inspired, I can live with that. Also, the grey suede knee-high boots looks a lot like a pair of boots I’ve bought a few years back (picture below). I can’t wait! Thanks to lucy92 for the tip, via Damernas.

H&M’s Cheap Monday Expansion Plans…

052208b_46.jpg

Denim label, Cheap Monday, a subsidiary of H&M (as of March) has big plans to eventually open its own stores and new markets in South America, Russia and Asia. H&M’s goal is to a make Cheap Monday as big as Levi’s or Diesel with a price tag that is based on the “Big Mac Index“, I agree that a good pair of jeans doesn’t need to cost so much.

Cheap Monday has already diversified its lineup to include looser fits. In August, the brand will introduce its first chinos and for fall will unveil 14 men’s and women’s styles, bringing the total designs to 25 and, including washes, 120. New women’s designs include Lady Loose, a high-waist, nonstretch style with tapered legs; Flare, a Seventies-inspired high waist with flared legs; A L, a high fit, tight waist with wide bottoms, and France, a normal waist, nonstretch fit with straight bottoms. For spring 2009, the offer will rise to 29 styles.

To further broaden its appeal, Cheap Monday aims to build its renown in ready-to-wear. Currently, the label’s offer is split evenly between rtw and denim. Next spring, it will introduce a new streetwear collection dubbed Wknd. via WWD
