Chanel Cruise 2009 Collection

The Chanel Cruise 2009 Collection took place yesterday at the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach, models rocked the runway with Brian Jones-inspired hair and “18 members of the U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swim Team closed the show” in a simple one piece C-H-A-N-E-L bathing suit - WOW! “The concept of the Cruise Collection is based on traveling, and Miami is the ideal destination: a city that moves and has energy, with its small districts and its animated streets,” comments Karl Lagerfeld. Karl Lagerfeld never fails to impress, the Cruise Collection is absolutely FABULOUS there are so many hot pieces that I want! I can’t wait to see the video!

One of the most eye catching piece is the “Miami Vice” gun shoes, Fashion Week Daily reports that it was “inspired by an image of a gun he saw somewhere, and he gave the tear to shoe designer Laurence Dacade, who employed plexi to make them functional” and they’re not just for the runway so call up Chanel and get your names on the list as they will be available in stores! Another interesting piece is the silver sequined jacket that Karl Lagerfeld wore to the Met’s Costume Institute Gala, there were three replicated looks of that jacket in the show. I also quite like the sunglasses and the heart bag with the enlarged CC plastered on it, the fab accessories as usual - drool and not to mention how hot Zoe Kravit’s sea foam Chanel bag is!!

Casio G-Shock 25th Anniversary Party

p1000259.jpg

To commemorate the Casio G-Shock’s 25th Anniversary, last night they threw a huge party at Guastavino’s to celebrate. Big names like Spike Lee, Eric Haze and Kanye West were amongst the guests that showed up along with VIPs, trendsetters, “streetwear” heads, magazines and friends came to party and to watch the special performance given by none other than Kanye West. At the beginning of the event we were given a press conference about G-Shock, educating us about the history and how it all started. Surprisingly it was quite amusing and interesting, the execs were all very humorous as well! Afterwards, we all were escorted downstairs to have a drink, enjoy the hor’dourves and chit-chat until Kanye is ready.

Finally, Kanye came out to entertain the crowd at around 10:15pm it was definitely worth the wait. He put on an amazing show as usual, his style was on point with his crisp white hi-top Christian Dior kickz and not to mention those dope shades he was rocking most of the night - you already people’s gonna start rocking b/c he did (perhaps they’re from the Ksubi for Pastelle collaboration?). The performance was crazy, if you were there you’d know what I’m talking about! SICK!!! Bigups to Sneaker John for reaching high to take pics for me, it was too difficult for a shorty haha. Thank you to G-Shock for inviting me to a memorable night and I left with a nice little gift box that consisted of the white 25th anniversary G-Shock watch and a t-shirt designed by Haze.

Prada Fairy Products

Fairy Scarf, US$350

If you’re a fan of the Prada fairy art print by James Jean besides the Fairy Bag there’s also other products to add to the collection. I’ve seen the bag in person while I was in HK and it looks fab but supposedly the ink runs when it gets wet, that must suck since the bag costs $2200! Although that’s a flaw with the bag, its still sold out - so if you want a quick fix with the fairies, perhaps a tee, scarf or sandals will do? The scarf is quite pretty…

Mary-Kate always has the best accessories, besides her fab rings and necklaces she always has dope sunglasses. Not to mention my favorite Chanel s5018 sunglasses that she rocks all the time, I am dying to get a pair! Is anyone willing to sell theirs? Hit me up!

A couple days ago I spotted a candid of her rockin’ these sunglasses that looks like the Ray-Ban Clubmaster or may be it’s vintage. There’s also a similar pair at Urban Outfitters called Lana and they’re on sale for $9.99. Take your pick, I think they’re kinda cute and they totally remind me of Noah Bennet’s “horn rimmed glasses”. Yay or nay?

SUPER Sunglasses

img_7430.jpg

With summer approaching us, we’re all in dire need to find the perfect accessory to match up our pretty little outfits. Sunglasses are the must-have accessory when the sun is blazing and can make a boring outfit more vivid and interesting. We all know that the wayfarer style sunglasses are classics and very popular amongst the celebrities and fashionistas, I’m a huge fan as well. If you love the wayfarer, you will definitely love SUPER! SUPER sunglasses are the classic wayfarer sunnies handmade straight out of Italy, “each pair of slightly oversized frames is reinforced with Zeiss lenses and a gold-plated brand stamp inside” available in a variety of colorways. At yesterday’s visit at The Foundation showroom, Pamela showed me the new collection and I felt like a kid in a candy store, so many choices and colors I was having a hard time choosing my favorite. I love all of them, the colors are so fun! The new collection is being shipped now and will be available in stores starting next week, the sunnies retail at $128. You can cop the sunnies at American Rag, Barneys New York, Fred Segal, Steven Alan and next week online via shopintuition.com, revolveclothing.com, cmonwealth.com and tobi.com.
