Nylon Magazine x Nike Sportswear Partnership Celebration

Nylon Magazine x Nike Sportswear Partnership Celebration

Although the Nylon Magazine x Nike Dunk High sneakers dropped already and most sizes are already sold out, last night was the official party to celebrate the partnership at 21 Mercer. The party was popping with DJ Jus Ske providing music, the space was packed with fashionistas and some even wore their Nylon Dunks to show support. I stopped by for a lil bit to join the fun and snapped up some photos before my camera died, it was raining so I didn’t wear my pair. Once I stepped in I spotted Dina Lohan and Ali Lohan posing for pictures and then Erin Lucas from The City was chit chatting with her friends, then later Josh Madden stepped in. Fun party and of course dope kicks! Just a heads-up that Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer still has the yellow, blue and orange pairs but not sure what sizes, cop it quick before they’re all gone.

Shoegasm/Catwalk Confidence Challenge with Dr. Emily Splichal

Shoegasm/Catwalk Confidence Challenge with Dr. Emily Splichal
Dr. Legs and Me

Since I’m a fan of sky high heels, I went by Shoegasm yesterday to check out the Catwalk Confidence Challenge event where Emily Splichal aka Dr. Legs was there to show us her popular Catwalk Confidence class which was “designed to help women gain strength, flexibility, comfort and confidence when they walk in high heel shoes, along with lean and defined legs”. I didn’t participate in the class but just watching it looked hard and intense already, no wonder Dr. Legs has an amazing body. She has perfect posture and the way she walked was full of confidence, definitely made me want to hit the gym haha.

In the Catwalk Confidence, Dr. Legs uses techniques from strength training and yoga to target muscles that are affected by overuse from high heels, strengthening the areas that can be broken down by constant heel-wearing. According to the press release, regular sessions of Catwalk Confidence correct poor posture and foot discomfort, allowing women to walk pain-free in heels. If this is true, I’d totally do the workout since I can’t really do high heels for a long period of time- has anyone tried?

Nine West Iceage Bootie

Nine West Iceage Bootie

When can the rain season officially be over? It’s June and it feels like April in NYC, last Saturday I was still wearing a jacket out with boots- ridiculous! Anyways, normally when I go shop I don’t wear heels just because I know after 30 mins my feet will scream for help but last week I decided to wear my new Nine West Iceage Bootie out without bringing a pair of flats. As expected the booties were super comfy since it has a 1″ platform, I wore it out in the rain and shopping for a few hours and my feet didn’t hurt at all. Loving the triple strap with antique buckle hardware and the 4″ wooden heel. I got the dark grey pair but they are also available in dark green, medium brown and black colorways for $139- not bad for a bootie that’s comfortable.

Sabon Organic Beauty Line Launch Event

Sabon Organic Beauty Line Launch Event

When the name Sabon comes up, I automatically think of soap- may be because every time I shop in Soho they are passing out free samples of soap outside the store. Last week I got a package in the mailbox from Sabon, it was an invitation to their launch event of their new Organic Beauty Line and a jar of their newest Organic Butter Cream. The box was really cute and thoughtful, loved that they put the time out to send a sample of their new product along with the invitation.

Tuesday night, the Organic Beauty Line was introduced to the press at their Soho store with drinks and h’ordourves that has the same ingredients they used in the collection. Super yummy stuff, especially the tea! We were also invited to try out the products in store, I washed the dead skins off my hands with the Organic Body Scrub it really left my hands smooth and silky. Then applied a lil bit of the Organic Butter Cream (a pea size is more than enough), now I have super soft hands for two days (the lovely lady said it lasts for two days). I really thinking of trying the body scrub on my entire body now haha.

The Sabon Organic Beauty Line consists of eight products: Organic Hand Cream ($18), Organic Foot Cream ($15), Organic Face Serum ($49), Organic Eye Lifting Serum ($39), Organic Body Scrub ($30), Organic Butter Cream ($39), Organic Day Cream ($39) and Organic Olive Oil Soap ($10). The product is suitable for all skin types and has a subtle apricot fragrance to it. The line is also paraben-free, sulfate-free, certified by ECOCERTĀ® and environmentally friendly by not testing on animals and using recycled packaging. The line is on sale now at Sabon stores and will soon be available online.
