Ksubi Eyewear Book Club Spring 2010 Collection

Spotted the new Ksubi Eyewear spring 2010 collection dubbed “Book Club” at FashionWindows and immediately fell in love with it! The Ksubi 09/10 Eyewear Collection consists of 13 unisex frames inspired by pop comic, steam punk and vintage that are straight, sharp, modern, architectural, and left virtually unpolished. The new frames are absolutely amazing, I’m obsessed with the Chanel 5018-inspired round frame in this collection. I’m definitely going to try to get my hands on a pair since I’ve been dreaming of owning a pair of the Chanel half-tinted frames, these will be a quick fix!

Oliver Peoples Spring 2010 Collection

Oliver Peoples Eyewear has reunited with acclaimed photographer and director Autumn de Wilde and tapped actor Elijah Wood and lead vocalist of Garbage, Shirley Manson for their spring 2010 ad campaign. The designer eyewear house has an established reputation for producing spirited short films that, combined with still photographs, bring life to the collection each season. The Oliver Peoples spring 2010 campaign will debut in November. This spring, key styles in the collection include Rees, Josselyn, Altman, Barrie, Sacha and Sheldrake which is my personal favorite. Can’t wait till the collection drops in February 2010!

“I was eager to be involved in a project that had so many dimensions,” said Wood. “As someone who wears and appreciates great eyewear, I couldn’t ask for a better brand to align with. And, working with Autumn, you know exactly what you are signing up for – a creative journey with a goldmine at the end.”

“I was incredibly pleased with the result of last year’s campaign and thrilled to be able to work alongside Autumn again and this year’s amazing team of talents,” said Michelle Walnum, Oliver Peoples Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Image. “The synergy of the collective, being that everyone comes from such different worlds, was extraordinary, and the result will illustrate my belief that the best things often come out of those that are most unexpected.”

Linda Farrow for The Row Eyewear Collection

It was a matter of time that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launches their own eyewear collection since they’re both always out in shades, now they can rock their own. The twins has partnered with Linda Farrow Eyewear to launch an eyewear collection for spring under their luxury label, The Row, according to WWD. The collection features four styles: a classic metal aviator, an oversize square frame, vintage-inspired brow-line rims and a pair of round shades taken from the Sixties, retailing from $325 to $390. The collection will be sold at current retailers, including Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman. Definitely styles that the Olsens would rock, I’m sure it will do just as well as all their other collections.

“We’re testing the market first and obviously these are four very different silhouettes, so we’re seeing what people are responding to and we’ll open up a couple more silhouettes for fall,” Ashley Olsen said. “We tried to find certain pieces that look good on more than one face, to pay close attention to how they fit certain faces and make them wearable at the same time.”

“Designing eyewear was definitely more complicated than we thought, and of course we wanted to be extremely hands-on,” said Mary-Kate. “From what I understand, the first year with eyewear is figuring out what the process will be like for us specifically. I think everyone does it differently, whether it’s looking through old materials or archives or working with drawings and measurements.”

Photography: Celebrity Paradise

I’ve been wondering what happened to Paris Hilton, she’s been on the low for a minute. Haven’t really seen her out and about or may be I dont’ really pay much attention to her? Anyway, this past Friday Paris Hilton debuted her spring 2010 sunglasses collection by Gripping Eyewear at The Vision Expo in Las Vegas. Of course the sunglasses are inspired by the heiress herself, would you wear Paris Hilton sunglasses? On a side note, what’s with her outfits?
