Nike Women’s Training Spring 2010 Media Summit: Day 2
October 7, 2009

Super behind, but here’s the recap for day 2 in Vancouver, BC for the Nike Women’s Training Spring 2010 Media Summit. Woke up super early for presentations, learned about some of Nike’s key training products for Spring 2010 and saw their latest Nike Zoom Fly Sisters collection, got to meet 8 fab athletes and learned about their training routines and they also demonstrated some of their daily training routines- tough. Athletes that were in attendance: Snowboard – Ellery Hollingsworth, Hockey – Angela Ruggiero, Skeleton – Katie Uhlaender, Curling – Nicole Joraanstad, Speed Skating – Katherine Reutter, Alpine Ski Racing – Julia Mancuso and Ice Skating – medal contenders Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker. One of my favorite winter Olympic game is ice skating, Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker showed us a little bit of their long routine, they skated to the Slumdog Millionaire theme song. Can’t wait to see more!

After a long day of presentations, we headed to Yaletown for dinner at Goldfish. The food was decent, but not as good as the Chinese food in NYC. Nike provided a lot of food, it was nuts, had to sleep right after…food coma!

Nike Women’s Training Spring 2010 Media Summit: Day 1
October 6, 2009

Now that I’m back from Vancouver, BC, I’ll be recapping my trip, had a great time there. Still a bit tired due to lack of sleep, not because of jetlag but because I watched the trailers of Parnormal Activity lol. I really want to see that movie, but I’m sure afterward I won’t be able to get a good night sleep for awhile, even with the lights on lol.

On the first day of my Nike trip in Vancouver, BC I stayed in the entire day at the Loden Hotel to catch up with work, plus I was extremely tired due to lack of sleep, I also knew the next day would be extremely long. I basically ate, worked, slept and then met up with the Nike team and the other media that were invited. Breakfast, lunch and dinner up at the Halo Suite in the Penthouse were all by Voya, Loden Hotel’s restaurant. Food was good and had a great time chatting with my new friends.

Nike Women’s Training Spring 2010 Media Summit: Fitness Package

Most of you guys know that I’m at Vancouver, BC for the Nike Women’s Training Spring 2010 Media Summit, I’ve got a ton of pictures to post soon- stay tuned. When I got back into my hotel room after dinner yesterday with Nike, on my bed was the Nike Fitness Package, similar to the one I received last year. Today, I’ll be putting the gear to good use for the Nike Training Club workout, oh boy! For those that follow my Twitter, already got the first look at the Nike Fly Sister collection for spring 2010. Stay tuned for more posts…

UPDATE: Apparently the wrong shoes got packed in my bag, got the replacement pair when I got to the workout. Got to wear the new spring 2010 Nike Zoom Fly Sister One+ (releasing January 1, 2010) kicks while working out, it was intense but the kicks held up to my expectations. Super lightweight (weight of an Apple iPod Nano) and love the new colors, kinda reminds me of the Lunaracer…don’t you think? Peep below for pics, added a few new ones.

Nike Womens Training Spring 2010 Media Summit at Vancouver, BC!
October 5-6, 2009: NYC to Vancouver, BC

Some of you may know via my Twitter that I’m at Vancouver, BC, Nike flew me in like last year to join their yearly Women’s Training Spring 2010 Media Summit. I am thrilled to be part of the media group, it’s also my first time stepping foot into Canada! Don’t mind the fatigue look, I got in at wee hours this morning, it was almost a 6 hour flight from NYC. I’m so glad I chose to fly Cathay Pacific, it’s the only direct flight from NYC and I made a good choice flying in the night before so I don’t have to get to the airport at 7am. There’s plenty of leg room on the plane, I had the whole row to myself too and the flight attendants were really nice plus the inflight entertainment was awesome. Would definitely fly Cathay Pacific again, probably to Hong Kong next time. I’m staying at the Loden Hotel, pretty nice here, a very clean and modern boutique hotel. Guests are provided with Molton Brown products to use, amazing.

Tomorrow, the activities and presentations being. I’ll hear from a talented group of U.S. female athletes, representing a cross-section of winter sports, about what they’re doing now to get ready for a chance to compete in the upcoming Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. They’ll also present some of Nike’s key training products for Spring 2010, experience a Nike Training Club workout, and see a few of the potential 2010 Olympians in action at their sport. Can’t wait!

Sorry for the lack of posts but you guys know the deal now, I’ll be posting on and off throughout my stay in Vancouver, BC!
