ACE Hotel New York

ACE Hotel New York

ACE Hotel New York is finally open, I don’t get to stay at much hotels in NYC since I live here- only when there’s events or when friends are in town I’ll visit. But last week was an exception, thanks to Sunglass Hut and Matt Goias I got to stay at ACE Hotel which just opened. Hotelier Alex Calderwood’s first East Coast hipster ACE Hotel is conveniently located at West 29th Street and Broadway, super close to K-Town and tourist shopping hotspot 34th Street. The hotel was designed by design firm Roman and Williams, 247 rooms were created with reference to a rock star’s crib featuring vintage furniture and retro fixtures.

As I walked into the hotel I was already distracted by the design and fixtures, the hotel is really “cool”. When I got up to the 3rd floor I was really excited to see how my room looked. I stayed in Room 312, a Superior Deluxe room equipped with a king size bed, private bath with French doors, vintage furniture including a turn table, guitar and SMEG refrigerator (I want one!!!), it was about 400 sq. ft. of space. The room had free WiFi internet so I was able to work comfortablely and of course I brought along my Vivienne Tam  x HP Mini 1000 to blog with, gotta stay connected at all times. Love the hotel, it felt very homey (wish my room was that neat haha) and cozy. Very different from the hotels I’ve stayed at, the treats were yummy and everything was just perfect, check out the pics for yourself!

Liberty Hotel + Scampo in Boston

Liberty Hotel + Scampo in Boston

Now that you’ve read and seen the pics from the first part of my Boston trip, here’s the last part. After resting up at the hotel, I got picked up at 7:15pm to tour the Liberty Hotel which used to be the Charles Street Jail. Pretty cool looking hotel with accents of the jail and contemporary design, marrying historic architecture with new renovations. The restaurants and bar names are perfect too, Clink, Alibi, Liberty Bar and Scampo. We had dinner at Scampo (which means escape), Italian food by award-winning chef Lydia Shire. The food was amazing, loved all of it especially the Lobster Pizza, Elephant Ear Walking Flat Bread and my entree White Miso Roasted Cod: Tempura Cod Cheeks with spring dug parsnips. Overall the ambiance and food were really good, I would go back if I’m in Boston.

PUMA City + Boston Tour

PUMA City + Boston Tour

For my Twitter followers you guys already know exactly what I did last Monday in Boston, but here’s a recap from the PUMA trip in Boston for all my readers. First stop on the agenda was to visit PUMA City at Fan Pier, it is a mobile retail, event space and bar that will host activities, parties and festivities for Boston – free and open to the public until May 16th. PUMA City is pretty amazing, its made out of 24 containers expanding 11,000 square feet and stands 40 feet high (3 stories). During lunch, the PUMA team shared with us the story behind PUMA Ocean Racing and debuted their new online reality TV series. Following lunch we toured the Race Village, PUMA Avanti training boat and had a walk through of PUMA City. Afterward the PUMA team took us to check out some of their favorite shops: The Achilles Project (1/2 retail shop and 1/2 restaurant- super cool spot + great selection of brands), Uniform, Bodega, X Squared, Karmaloop and Louis Boston. It was a fun filled day, but it was time to rest so I went back to the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel to chill until dinner time, I was mad beat haha! Stay tuned for the next post of the tour of the Liberty Hotel and dinner at Scampo!

Samsonite by Alexander McQueen Sale on GILT

Samsonite by Alexander McQueen Sale on GILT

Just had a chance to check GILT.com and was so happy that the Samsonite by Alexander McQueen sale is going on and not completely sold out! I’ve been eying these luggages since they released but the prices were too crazy to buy at full price but now at half off, how could I resist? Too bad I didn’t log on earlier, I missed the Black Ostrich Upright Rolling Carry-On Luggage ($288) but I did snatch up the Ivory Croc Upright Rolling Carry-On Luggage ($278) and matching Ivory Passport Holder ($38). I personally like to travel in style so my luggage gotta look good too haha, the thermoformed crocodile embossed ABS zippered shell looks crazy! I can’t wait to get it, it’s going to take about 2-3 weeks for delivery…I’ll snap pics when I receive them!
