March 14, 2008 - Hong Kong MTR

Ok so I’m actually really behind now, but better late than never right? On my 11th day in Hong Kong (March 14th) I didn’t do much, B wanted to shop for toys/figures so we went to Mong Kok’s CTMA Toy Centre to check out the stuff. The ToyMart was huge, tons of toy stores in there, B copped a lot of dope toy and I felt a bit of a relieve since I abused him to shop with me for days haha.

Afterwards, we met up with Carla’s cousin, Melody and her family (I met them at Carla’s wedding in Macau) for dinner at Tung Chung. They brought me to this local joint called Tung Sing Lau Restaurant, somewhere I would never of known and go to if I wasn’t taken by them. The food was pretty good there, but just a bit of a hike to get there.

March 13, 2008 - Yuen Long Light Rail Train

Last time I was in Hong Kong, my friend took me to Yuen Long to a famous dessert spot called B仔凉粉 (B Jai Leung Fun) and I really liked it so this time I took B. Before eating dessert we had lunch at a local noodle spot called 好到底麵家 (Ho Do Dai), this spot was pretty good too. We both enjoyed our noodles and dessert in Yuen Long, but it was a long trek to get there - but well worth it. Afterwards went to Causeway Bay to shop, bought a few things (Converse As Macaronia Knee-Hi and a few other things) then headed to Times Square’s food court, city’super (I LOVE city’super!) for some Triple O’s. So far I’m enjoying my stay in HK, still got tons of shopping to do haha!

Hong Kong Trip Day #9 - 03.12.2008

March 12, 2008 - Hong Kong MTR

Just a quick update before I get ready to head out to meet my friend to shop some more, woo hoo! The weather has been pretty hot and humid out, my face is hardly ever oily but when I get here I get some oil on my face which sucks! Anyways, on my 9th day in HK I went to Tsim Sha Tsui to eat lunch at Wu Kong Shanghai Restaurant. My aunt in-law’s bro took me here when I was there a few years ago with my bro and I remembered the food was pretty good, and it still is. Afterwards B and I went to shop of course, bought a few more pairs of shoes. Most of the time shops won’t let you take pics so I’m basically sneaking in my photos, a lot of the stuff I’ve bought I haven’t shot yet - so stay tuned for that. At TST I bought a pair of red patent leather boots, they’re pretty dope - it cost HK$200 so it’s a pretty good price.

Note: Dinner pics will be posted tonight, we had hotpot - I have to run now! Finally had a chance to upload more images from shopping and dinner at Tao Heung 88 (hotpot). Peep them below.

March 11, 2008 - Hong Kong, MUJI @ Langham Place, Mong Kok

On my 8th day in Hong Kong I had lunch at Cafe de Coral, its another franchise fast food joint all over Hong Kong. Afterwards went to Mong Kok again, that one area alone has a ton of little shops and shopping malls that I will need to go a few times to finish. Went to MUJI at Langham Place, the MUJI in Hong Kong is so much better than the one in NYC - they have a ton of snacks there (a separate entry will be posted about it soon). Then on to shoe shopping, I love buying cheap shoes in HK - they’re great when I bring them back to NYC since no one has them. Check out what I bought after the jump…

Vanessa & Angela Simmons Talk Pastry with nitro:licious @ Magic

Note: Sorry about the horrible audio, it got even worst after I’ve uploaded it on YouTube but I try to get it fixed so you guys can hear what they’re saying haha. I’ll update this post when I get a chance to get the audio fixed up a bit. At least you get to see them in action right? hahah

Finally had a chance to upload the video and pictures of Vanessa and Angela Simmons at Magic talking Pastry with nitro:licious. I actually wasn’t expecting to shoot a video, thanks to YM at Freshness for whipping out his digicam and filming my little chat with the brains behind the successful Pastry brand. The Simmons sisters were very down to earth and sweet, they took some time out of their busy schedule to update nitro:licious readers about Pastry and showed off their new collection. Lots of new kicks, handbags and clothing will be released - check out the exclusive sneak peek of their new kicks and handbags. Also check out what Vanessa is rocking, they’re all from the Pastry Clothing collection, cute huh? Stay tuned for more Pastry updates…

Macau Trip Day #3: 03.09.2008

March 9, 2008 - Macau, Hotel Lisboa

Woke up early on my 3rd day in Macau since it will be my last night there I wanted to get more stuff done before leaving. Just a quick rundown of what I did, I have over 100 pictures per day editing these pics just gives me a headache haha. Ate a quick lunch and headed to the second island in Macau, Taipa. It took about 20 mins to cross the Taipa bridge to arrive at the Portuguese Historical Museum and Portuguese Vintage Houses, Carla told me this spot is a very famous place for wedding pictures - I saw four brides that day taking photos haha. After a tour, we headed to the little shops around the area then a quick snack at Tai Lei to try the famous Pork Chop Sandwich. The line to get it was SUPER long, surprisingly it went pretty fast - took about 20 mins to cop the buns haha. The Pork Chop Sandwich was pretty good, I’d go back if I visit Macau again.

After a quick snack, we headed back to Macau to Fisherman’s Wharf. Since we haven’t gambled yet, we went to Grand Lisboa to play some slot machines - lost a few hundred Hong Kong dollars. Carla recommended to eat at A Lorcha, a Portuguese restaurant - it’s my first time have Portuguese food. I will be doing a separate review on it so stay tuned for that.

Converse As Macaronia Knee-Hi

img_4945.jpg

I’ve been a bit slow on posting my trip pictures, just because I have an overwhelming amount of pics and when I get home every night I’m pretty much beat. I’ll be skipping around randomly posting trip pictures and what I bought. Yesterday (March 13, 2008 HK) while shopping at Causeway Bay Place, I came across these dope Converse As Macaronia Knee-Hi kicks (the name says knee-high but they’re not lols), these are Japan release only. This is the first pair of Converse kicks I’ve actually purchased (others are courtesy of Converse), I really liked these - even B was diggin’ it. What caught my attention was the fringe, its detachable if you don’t love it - I’m def rockin’ them with it on. These kicks look so much better in person and even more so on, I’ll show pics when I rock them. The kicks cost HK$599 (about US$80), which is a very good price considering its over US$120 on Rakuten. Do you love it or hate it?
