Karl Lagerfeld Featured in a France’s Road Safety Campaign

This has nothing to do with Chanel or anything fashion related but I find this ad that Karl Lagerfeld is featured in for France’s road safety campaign to be very interesting. They’ve tapped the designer to appear in a summer campaign “geared to encourage drivers to equip themselves with security vests and triangles”. The tag line reads: “It’s yellow, it’s ugly, it doesn’t go with anything, but it could save your life.” He is so stylin’ haha! via WWD

nitro:licious Supports - China Earthquake & Myanmar Cyclone Relief

support-myanmar-china-earthquake-b.gif

Dear nitro:licious Friends,

Please take a moment right now and pray for those that lost their precious lives, family members and homes during the disastrous Myanmar Cyclone and China Earthquake this month. Even looking at the images makes me cry, imagine the vulnerable people in China that were affected. Please take a moment to donate (whatever you can will be appreciated) to the China Earthquake Relief and Myanmar Cyclone efforts. I have donated $300.00 to the American Red Cross along with my sister sites Sneaker News and Freshness which made a donation of $1000 each. If you run a website/blog, please also link your readers to the American Red Cross donation sites. Your donations will definitely help meet critical needs like shelter, food, relief supplies and other emergency assistance, your generous support will mean a lot to those in need. If you wish to donate somewhere else, please make sure to donate to a reputable organization. nitro:licious THANKS YOU in advance!

On Friday, May 2, 2008, tens of thousands of lives were lost and hundreds of thousands of homes were damaged when Cyclone Nargis unleashed high winds, heavy rain, and floodwater in southwestern Myanmar.

On Monday, May 12, 2008, a major earthquake, measuring 7.9 8.0 on the Richter scale, jolted southwestern China’s Sichuan Province. Several lower-scale earthquakes and aftershocks followed in the same area. The quake destroyed many buildings in the area, as well as infrastructure like communication towers. According to the latest reports, more than 12,000 people have died and many more have been injured or are still missing. Many schools were destroyed, including one that had at least 900 students in it. As authorities reach more remote areas, these numbers are expected to rise.

My mom told me a bittersweet news report yesterday, I was deeply touched by the story of a courageous mom and her baby: “My dear baby, if you can survive, please remember mom loves you”. Read about the story after the jump…

Home Sweet Home!

After a long vacation in Asia, I am finally back home in NYC! After arrival from my 15 hour flight yesterday (April 7th), took a lil break then headed to celebrate my mom’s birthday at Kittichai (review to come) with my family. It’s great seeing my family again, happy birthday mom! Also, Shaun White was sitting directly in back of me during dinner, that was pretty kewl.

I’ll be here and there on blogging since I need to get up to date with emails, snail mail and my stack of packages. Lots of peeps sent love while I was away (thanks!), I’ll be showing off what I received as soon as I catch my breath!

Comments Confusion

comments-nitro.jpg

First off I loveeeeeee comments, I read each and everyone of them! I always see the certain “few” individuals dropping a line, I totally appreciate it but where’s everyone else? Don’t be shy, hit your gurl up and let’s communicate. Are my topics boring you guys? :( What is it? Tell me, please…

Anyways, the main reason for this post is because I’ve noticed a lot of people getting confused on how comments work on nitro:licious. All comments are moderated to ensure there won’t be any flame wars going on here and that’s just the way I like it. So unless I’m by a computer “approving” the comments your comments will not be seen by others but yourself and I.

How to read comments (please see above image), your comment is on top and your name (posted by:) is under. Many people get confused and leave several comments saying their comments went under another person’s name when they are just reading it wrong. Hopefully this will help clear the air a bit.

Please do not promote your blog, website, online store, myspace page, etc. on the comments section. You can list it under the URL section when you’re filling out the form to leave a comment (next to the E-mail box). But please do not link it in your comment area, if you do not have a URL then leave it BLANK - you do not need to put nitrolicious.com, donthave1, none, n/a. The section is not required to leave a comment.

I think I’ve covered all the “confusions” I’ve seen on this blog - if there’s anymore let me know.
