The Chanel Cruise 2009 Collection took place yesterday at the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach, models rocked the runway with Brian Jones-inspired hair and “18 members of the U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swim Team closed the show” in a simple one piece C-H-A-N-E-L bathing suit - WOW! “The concept of the Cruise Collection is based on traveling, and Miami is the ideal destination: a city that moves and has energy, with its small districts and its animated streets,” comments Karl Lagerfeld. Karl Lagerfeld never fails to impress, the Cruise Collection is absolutely FABULOUS there are so many hot pieces that I want! I can’t wait to see the video!

One of the most eye catching piece is the “Miami Vice” gun shoes, Fashion Week Daily reports that it was “inspired by an image of a gun he saw somewhere, and he gave the tear to shoe designer Laurence Dacade, who employed plexi to make them functional” and they’re not just for the runway so call up Chanel and get your names on the list as they will be available in stores! Another interesting piece is the silver sequined jacket that Karl Lagerfeld wore to the Met’s Costume Institute Gala, there were three replicated looks of that jacket in the show. I also quite like the sunglasses and the heart bag with the enlarged CC plastered on it, the fab accessories as usual - drool and not to mention how hot Zoe Kravit’s sea foam Chanel bag is!!

At the beginning of this year stylist to stars, Rachel Zoe has announced her deal with Bravo to star in a one-hour weekly show that will air in June or September. And if you thought that was the last of her, WWD reports that she is in works with The Beanstalk Group Inc. to create a “line of apparel, accessories and undergarments under the Rachel Zoe brand”. No further details, how do you feel about this?

After the successful partnership for Marchesa’s last four ready-to-wear show, Stila has teamed up with Marchesa’s founders and designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig and makeup artist Talia Shobrook to create makeup looks. The limited edition collection will consists of four categories, The Backstage Beauty Collection, The Front Row Look, The Red Carpet Look and The Runway Look which is slated to hit Sephora, sephora.com and stilacosmetics.com in August and each palette will retail for $40 each.

The Backstage Beauty Collection, which includes three palettes, each with one matte and two shimmery eye shadow shades and an eyeliner. The Front Row Look is a black-patent palette with a smoky quartz eyeliner; The Red Carpet Look is a red-patent palette with an onyx eyeliner, and The Runway Look is a pewter-patent palette with an onyx eyeliner. Each palette is finished with fake leather rosettes that can be reused as necklaces or bracelets. via WWD

Sneaker News has the latest scoop on an upcoming collaboration between Nike and Cassette Playa on a Blazer! Carrie Mundane, designer of Cassette Playa has worked with M.I.A. and is known for her crazy use of colors and prints. I was quite surprised that the Blazer is not as flashy and wild as her clothing line, you can check out her spring/summer ‘08 collection featuring the Blazer in the shoot in the meantime. Hellz Bellz has teamed up with BKRW to created a limited edition t-shirt to commemorate their 1 year anniversary at the Parisian department store, Citadium. There are only 50 ‘Watch It’ tees made and is available in mens and womens sizes, act quick if you want it! It is now available at the BKRW online store for US$62.

Fergie has inked another deal, she will be collaborating with Brown Shoe to create her namesake footwear collection “to capture her style sensibilities in a debut collection for spring 2009″. To promote the collection, she plans to make personal appearances and there will also be a dedicated website for the range. I’m anticipating to see what the line will look like, if you’re a retailer you can get a sneak peek at the FFaNY in June. What are your initial thoughts?

After breakfast with Louis Vuitton, I went home to rest up a little before the LRG x Courvoisier Exclusif Party hosted by Complex at Reed Space later on at night. I did a change up with my outfit, kept my H&M top on but threw on my lame’ legging, gladiator sandals and switched to a smaller bag to make the look a bit more fun for the night. When I got there, the party was already jammed packed with people chilling and sipping on Courvoisier, it was so crowded it felt like a sauna up in there but Just Blaze kept the party bumpin’. Regardless of the heat, people were enjoying themselves and even DJ Clark Kent and Shan Foster came through to show some luv. Bigups to my gurl Christine from Complex for another dope party!
