My first show at Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week was to Richard Chai at Lincoln Center this morning. I’ve been invited for a few seasons already but I always manage to miss it but not this time. I was excited about my first show of the season, it turned out to be really fun and uplifting especially since the collection is so wearable. I love that Richard Chai created oversized pockets for his outerwear, I’m a fan of it. The collection also consisted of stripes and floral pieces, also sheer palazzo pants! I do love the masculine boxy cuts throughout the collection. How cute is alice + olivia‘s Spring 2012 ad campaign featuring Chelsea Tyler, daughter of Steven Tyler? It’s also the brand’s first ever global ad campaign which was launched in conjunction with their 10 year anniversary. To celebrate this big occasion, they wanted to shine a spotlight on how the brand was born – the launch of Stacey Bendet’s PANTS! The campaign was shot by Greg Sorensen and under the creative direction of Stacey Bendet. To hype up the release of the ad campaign, last week they launched a very fun and edgy campaign called “GET INTO OUR PANTS” – with guerrilla street teams distributing “Get Into Our Pants” branded product – matchbooks, bumper stickers, coffee sleeves, condoms and cocktail napkins all over the city – at the most popular coffee shops, hottest bars, top hotels and more. And now this morning the big reveal was at Times Square, which they’ve recreated the set of the campaign. Super cute, it’s like a slumber party at a friend’s house! So fun.
Can you believe Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is here already? I can’t! Time seriously is passing super fast, especially when it’s good times. I am so happy to announce that I am one of Diet Pepsi‘s fashion week correspondent this season! Diet Pepsi is back as an official sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to refresh consumers by providing fun and uplifting moments throughout the week. I’ll be covering daily happenings, runway shows/presentations and behind-the-scenes content as well, so be sure to follow me here (twitter: @nitrolicious & instagram: @nitro_licious). I’ll be attending the Diet Pepsi sponsored refreshing runway experience on Thursday, curated by fashion commentator Simon Doonan and presented on a set designed by Jonathan Adler. The Diet Pepsi Style Studio fashion show will feature a collection of original looks by four regional designers: Project Runway alum and Dallas-based Shirin Askari; Denver, Colorado’s Rachel Hurst of Rae Marie; Genoveva Christoff from Columbus, OH and Elise Bergman from Chicago, IL. And also Christian Cota created a Diet Pepsi-inspired capsule collection that will be on display at the DP Style Studio in the Grand Lobby of Lincoln Center, check it out. Lots of fun ‘refreshing moments’ to come! I was recently introduced to ThreadSence.com and I’ve been browsing through it since. Last night I spent a good amount of time browsing through pages of products, there’s a lot of stuff I want to buy! There’s some brands available but most are indie-urban fashion which are affordable and cute. IHave you shopped ThreadSence.com? L-R: Jet Jumpsuit by Motel Rocks ($86), “Jax” Boots by Dolce Vita ($178), Sorry I Mustache Two-Finger Ring ($13)
I personally really like the H&M Fashion Against AIDS collection, so excited to see the latest collection! “H&M is launching its fifth Fashion Against AIDS (FAA) collection, to raise funds and create awareness about HIV/AIDS among the young. Available in around 300 H&M Divided departments from April 26, 2012 as well as online (where available), this year’s collection brings together ethnic influences from different continents.” Great collection and a great cause, 25% of all sales will go directly to a variety of international youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects. Can’t wait till the weather gets warmer and get my hands on some of these pieces! Do you like?
Back in July, UNIQLO announced the new collaborative project with UNDERCOVER by Jun Takahashi which is slated to release this Spring. For those of you (me included) that are anticipating to see what the collection would look like, here’s a look at the campaign. Quirky campaign, I like! The UU collection is made for everyone and will be debuting in 11 countries on March 16th. I can’t wait to see the full lookbook.
