Big Nike High Womens – Valentine’s Day 2010 Editions

A number of Valentine’s Day sneakers have already dropped with V-Day fast approaching, this week, one of the more interesting shoes coming out are the above Women’s Big Nike High. The pair that we received in the mail (Thanks Zach!) are actually purposely mismatched to show that they can be worn as such but they are sold as matching pairs. Turns out Lanie (Hellz Bellz) received the other mismatched set. On the right shoe is an image of “Nike” the Goddess of Victory and on the tongue of the left shoe is a poem by the lady who designed the color scheme.  Boys if you still haven’t gotten your ladies a V-Day present, look for these at Nike Sportswear retailers now.

YSL Manifesto + Free Tote | Spring/Summer 2010
Photos courtesy of YSL

I was wondering when the announcement of the new YSL Manifesto will be, finally today reader Amel from YSL sends the first look at the Spring/Summer 2010 tote (thanks)! The Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2010 Manifesto will make an exclusive debut in the streets of New York on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, followed by a worldwide release on Saturday, February 20 in the streets of Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong and, for the first time, Berlin. After last season’s powerful introduction of the Manifesto to the city of Seoul, Korea, it was decided that each successive season would bring a new destination for the Manifesto project, ensuring that in keeping with its ethic, the Manifesto’s message travels far and wide.

This Manifesto – the sixth edition, was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin under the creative direction of Stefano Pilati, and features Natalia Vodianova in the Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2010 collection. In a spirited gesture of generosity and democracy, like past seasons about half a million copies of the Manifesto will be distributed globally and to the first 2,000 passerby in each city with a custom cotton tote bag designed by Pilati. This new tote is so fresh featuring two red juicy pixelated strawberry prints on the front and back on a white background. Can’t wait to get my hands on it! Do you like?

Jeremy Scott for adidas Originals JS Wings | Spring 2010
Photography: YM

Last month you’ve already previewed the Jeremy Scott for adidas Originals spring 2010 footwear collection, here’s a detailed look at the JS Wings. For spring, Jeremy Scott released two new colors and materials – a rainbow reflective synthetic upper and a white patent version with golden highlights. I’m a fan of both pairs and finally got my hands on size 4.5 for both pairs at Packer Shoes. Small sizes are so hard to come by, so happy to add them to my collection. The shoes are currently available in select boutiques and fashion stores from February 1, 2010, followed by a second launch in Originals stores on March 15, 2010. Here’s a detailed look at the JS Wings, they’re pretty amazing. More pics after the jump…

Mary J. Blige x Catherine Malandrino T shirt Collection

Catherine Malandrino has teamed up with her friend Mary J. Blige to cobrand a T-shirt collection called FFAWN + Catherine Malandrino launching in stores next week. FFAWN, Foundation for the Achievement of Women Now, is the charity MJB started in 2008. According to WWD, the collection features tunics with hand-painted messages such as “I’m Free” and “I’m Power.” The off-the-shoulder tops pictured on them retails starting for $39, will also be sold in the designer’s freestanding stores, and a percentage of all sales will benefit FFAWN. Additional styles will play up an abstract illustration of a phoenix and the FFAWN logo. If you want to meet them both, they will be greeting shoppers at Bloomingdale’s new 350-square-foot Catherine Malandrino concept shop in Manhattan on February 17th.

“As a designer, I feel I have a role to play. What I want is to free women,” Malandrino said. “Femininity is a strength and not a weakness.”

“Catherine has been a dear friend of mine for years and, after she learned about FFAWN and our mission, she offered to create a T-shirt collection that would celebrate being women, being strong and being free. These are not your average T-shirts,” she said.
