For those that are looking forward to the G.V.G.V. for UNIQLO collection, it has debutted today at the UNIQLO Soho Flagship store. I went down there earlier to cop a few pieces, it was quiet, neat and all sizes were available…don’t seem to be hype about this collection like 3.1 phillip lim. The dresses were very pretty, I grabbed 2 pieces and a cropped jacket…very fun! Its sad to know that G.V.G.V. is the last of the 2007 Designer Invitation Project capsule collections, hopefully they will announce their next roster soon (if any)! Also, UNIQLO has brought Japan to town, they started to stock Yukata, a summer garment worn to festivals…I’ve worn that before when I was studying abroad in Japan many years back! UT has been updated with lots of new t-shirts for men, women and children, might wanna check that out and stock up for the summer. Fun! Check out the pics after the jump…

I was the only person standing in line this morning. I got there 30 min early and looked like and idiot but I wanted to make sure I got the black dress with the belt/gold buttons. I’m an xs so everything is always gone if I wait. There were Fashion editors looking around but I didn’t get to go in until after 10.
Bought the black dress I wanted looked the best for the price and the full skit in navy. I love them both but alas they run a little big.
dang, thats too bad about the drapey dress. i really liked it on the model.
I haven’t been to uniqlo in a while. Does anyone know if they still have left overs from the Alice Roi collection? I’m guessing no, but still crossing my fingers. Still got that beige embroidered jumper dress on my mind. Also, do they have nice footwear or summer sandals?
I was at Uniqlo on Wednesday and copped a Yukata in the Cherry blossom print. It took me forever to figure out how to tie it cause the instructions are in Japanese & the english piece of paper wasn’t too helpful~!!! so I looked up directions on the net, but for only $59.50 it comes with and obi & a alittle purse
I looked for the GVGV collection cause I noticed the text in the window, but it wasn’t there yet~!!! I didn’t see anything left from Alice Roi when I was there last. I think it all sort of dissapeared with the Philip Lim. It was kind of lingering for a while though~!!! Esp. the floral print t. I don’t think anything generated as much buzz as the Philip Lim
the gvgv collection was definitely there hence this post and i bought stuff from there, its in the back near the registers. i dont dink it sold out that fast right?
Thanks babe for getting the dress for me! Looks GOOD!!
I was in there yesterday and there were no Alice Roi items left (no 3.1 Phillip Lim either–all the tshirts that they reduced last week were gone), but there was plenty of G.V.G.V. It was really well made but I wasn’t impressed with the designs–I wanted the drapey dress but as retrogurl points out, it is horribly unflattering–even if you are tall and skinny, the draping is just off and looks like way too much fabric sticking badly out at the sides.
I’ve heard that the next roster of designers have been posted and include more Lutz and Patmos, which (if I remember correctly), includes argyle sweaters and should be available late summer, I think. They have announced the designers but that’s the only one I remember.
