Don’t shop on an empty stomach! At IKEA there’s no reason for shopping on an empty stomach. Bring the family and have a good time in the IKEA restaurant. Taste the daily dish or go for a Swedish or local delicacy. Relax with a cup of coffee and plan your shopping while the kids have fun in the restaurant play area. In the restaurant you can eat Swedish and local specialities at fantastic prices. Or grab a hot dog on your way out, in our exit bistro. Visit the Swedish food market too, and get acquainted with Swedish food, sweets and drinks. You’re taste buds will be forever thankful! – IKEA
I went to IKEA with B last month, he had to get some home stuff and office chairs and tables for his new office. We decided to eat lunch there, went on an empty stomach to try the IKEA Restaurant and Cafe there, my cousins luv eating there so I told him I wanted to try it. It was both our first time eating there, the food is dumb cheap and the place is ALWAYS packed, its ridiculous haha! Surprisingly the food was decent, I would think it would taste more like elementary cafeteria food but it was not bad at all. Next time I decide to go to IKEA I’ll eat there again, I bet the IKEA’s in Asia has better food haha (can anyone from Asia tell me if the food is good?). Have you eaten at IKEA Restaurant & Cafe, besides the ice cream where everyone gets while waiting for their big furniture? Peep the pics after the jump…

Seating area…

Mac & Cheese $1.99 – a bit too watery, tastes like microwave ones haha

Me: Chicken Marsala w/ rice & vegetables $4.99 – this was actually pretty good and I felt it was pretty healthy too!

B: Poached Salmon $5.99 – I tasted some of B’s and I thought it was too “fishy”, he said it was OK only too.

B: Minestrone Soup $1.79 - We both thought this was OK…

B: Kristian Regale Sparkling Orange Juice – forgot how much but sparkling OJ is always good!
UPDATE: 09.22.2007

Swedish Meatball Plate (Small, 10 piece) $4.29 – this was pretty good YM ate up most of it haha, I stole like one meatball!

Smucker’s Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich, $1.99 – I never saw this in the stores, I’m going to try to hunt it down its pretty good!

HMMM….

Mac & Cheese, $1.99 – my bro and Shawn ate this, both didn’t like it neither haha!

Shawn also had a Blueberry Cheesecake – tasted nothing like Cheesecake, oops!

IKEA food is nice here in Holland, and yes it’s always fully packed! I guess because the prices are sooo cheap. =) I like it.

I like their hot dogs, I was skeptical as you can’t even buy a bag of crisps for the price of their hot dogs but they tatse really good. Check out the supermarket if you haven’t already…they make these really nice cinnamon roll things mmmm.

That Kristian Regale sparkling juice is so awesome. I cannot live without it. They have a bunch of other flavors too, including some “light” ones for those counting calories. http://www.kristianregale.com
