If you’re a regular on Run’s House you probably already know that Vanessa and Angela Simmons have been in the works of creating a Pastry apparel line. According to WWD, the girls are preparing for the launch of Pastry apparel today, which will hit stores such as Against All Odds, Mony, Jimmy Jazz and drjays.com on January 25th. Besides clothing they are also tapping into the handbag business, the handbags are meant to be matched with your kicks - expect colorful messenger bags, hobos, bowler bags and duffels.
“Everything that my sister and I do, we do it because we have fun,” Vanessa said. “We had always planned on expanding into a full lifestyle brand, and now was just the perfect time to get into apparel and handbags.”
The apparel collection includes a range of styles such as satin and spandex dresses, embroidered denim jeans, stretch charmeuse tops, French terry hoodies and pants and metallic mesh T-shirts. The line comes in a range of candy colors, such as bright pink, purple, blue and yellow.
“As we move into fall, we want to introduce some more sophisticated and edgy pieces like leather jackets and things like that,” Angela said.
The Pastry apparel line wholesales from $14 to $49, and the handbags wholesale from $13 to $45. Company executives expect first-year sales volume to reach $25 million in wholesale volume.
Their venture doesn’t end there, next up the sisters are working on jewelry and lingerie lines. Be prepared for a full line of Pastry soon…

Personally I’m rooting for these girls and Pastry. Though I’m not huge on these initial sneakers (maybe I need to see them in person) I definitely look forward to seeing more designs from them.

Posted By: cristina | December 6th, 2007 at 6:39 pm…I like the footwear, but I still would like to see a Pastry Girls line. My daughter is in love with a few pairs of their sneakers.
Posted By: Nykya | December 7th, 2007 at 2:48 amWow. Good for them. Having a base such as daddy run and uncle russ could make anyone’s branding dreams. But besides that their ideas are unique and very intriguing. I’m sure they’ll sell the 25 mil easy. Angela is a female Russell simmons.
