H&M and Designers Against AIDS (DAA) are joining forces in the battle against AIDS and are launching a collection for guys and girls together with Rihanna, Timbaland, Chicks on Speed, Good Charlotte, Henrik Vibskov, Jade Jagger, Katharine Hamnett, My Chemical Romance, Rufus Wainwright, Scissor Sisters, The Cardigans, Tiga and Ziggy Marley. The aim is to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, which affects many young people all over the world. The collection “Fashion Against AIDS” will be available in H&M’s Divided departments from February 2008. The artists participate free of charge and 25 per cent of the proceeds from the collection will go to HIV/AIDS-prevention projects around the world. This will be coordinated by DAA and YouthAIDS, Population Services International’s (PSI) HIV/AIDS prevention initiative which reaches more than 600 million young people in 60 countries. Prices vary from £7.99 to £19.99. that timbaland t-shirt looks hot!
our society is abusing the word “charity”, if HM has the money, why don’t they just donate it to schools so they can have proper sex education programs for teenagers( and their family, becoz some frequent news i hear daily is parents against how sex education offend their religion and motivates kids to have sex). I see no point of spreading the word by everyone on the street wearing a “use a condom” t-shirt. and I believe any disease is part of natural selection. Becareful about the word PROCEED, it could mean 25% of the profit goes to the charity, which means HM obtain 75% of sales profit, and the designers worked free of charge. so what kind of charity event are they running??i would never buy any of these charity items, same goes with my beloved gucci for unicef stuff, and cartier, etc. If i have the money, i will donate to the charity directly, but even this, can’t guarantee all my money goes to the needed. Charity are non-profit, but they don’t work for free.

Oh wow…can you please stop complaining..? Wat are YOU giving back to the less fortunate or do you sit all day long behind your fashionable laptop explaining to people how very little of the percentages actually go to the cause..?
I think it’s great for a company like H&M with sales of million dollars a year to get involved in a widespread problem..just think about how many H&M-stores reside all over the world and think about the many items of this campaign sold: you can’t call that little..all together that’s a whole lot of money..!
And please, please stop the ‘natural-selection’ BS…because that’s what it is…so what, we should just sit back and do nothing..??!

Personally I find that mens shirts are much nicer than girls shirts…not to mention at gigs skinny fit is always more expensive.
