The Scene
The swank spin-off of Steve Hanson’s popular Park Avenue cantina is a Soho hipster haven. The downtown digs look familiar, with a brushed-tin bar leading into a prime people-watching patio, and a booth-lined dining room with high skylights, geometric cut-out screens and antiqued mirrors. The vibe is younger and edgier, but its buzz can be its bane: Diners shout over music, and service can be over-taxed .

The Food
The upscale Mexican menu wows crowds with innovative ingredients and showy good looks. Mashed-to-order guacamole and hand-rolled tacos, stuffed with grilled jumbo shrimp and served with three incendiary salsas, make fun, shareable starts. Appetizers–earthy huitlacoche-mushroom masa tarts and shrimp seviche in lime-tomatillo emulsion–are well-composed hits. Entrees are more traditional: Manchego rellenos and sticky-sweet chipotle pork ribs are worthy of return visits, but roast chicken mole and enchiladas lack complexity. Hot banana crepes with goat cheese caramel are a must. – Citysearch

Went to Dos Caminos Soho last November with Diana and Sharon for the first time, I’m not a fan of guacamole which is what’s famous there but D and S are (they said it was really good). The RIBEYE STEAK ALAMBRE I had was simply amazing – sooooo sooo good, Diana and Sharon both enjoyed the ROASTED PLANTAIN EMPANADAS but Diana mentioned that the Chili was so so. Will def hit up this spot again! Peep the pics after the jump…

this place is really reasonable for brunch, you can get booze and a big brunch entree for around 15 bucks…

i go to the one on park avenue often!

ive never been for dinner though. apparently it gets really packed…

best guacamole in the city, in my opinion!
