Did you see this coming? May be it was a hint when Jennifer Connelly stepped out head to toe in Balenciaga at the LA Reservation Road premiere. I’m quite intrigued by the awkward poses, it matches up to the structured dresses from the collection.
Are you feelin’ this campaign? Or did you think Nicolas Ghesquière should of used a model instead, may be Daria Werbowy (see image below)? via TFS

Daria Werbowy featured in UK Vogue

I actually prefer Connelly. The Ads look nice and I love the awkwardness. She looks almost broken, which suits the garment. I think Daria Werbowy looks too girly in that pic for the dress. With all that hair, it comes off really mismatched or maybe misinterpreted. The shape is all lost!
As low-profile as Jennifer Connelly might seem, I’ve been noticing her eclectic style for years. Even on talk shows, she’ll wear outfits beyond most celebs’ comfort zones — I recall an ivory satin-looking dress on Conan with puff sleeves the size of her head. These Balenciaga ads are totally her. I salute her for personal style, and especially Nicholas for taking note.
i like connelly. nicholas loves her, she loves him. it works well. its well documented that she loves his designs and he loves how she wears them, and her stepping out in head to toe balenciaga proves to you that she understands that balenciaga has very strict rules with magazines and other print about separating their pieces.
Connelly looks waaay better than Werbowy. I think with Werbowy, one tends to feel it’s not so much about personal style but just another set of clothes on a pretty hanger.
Connolly’s quirky, off-beat style makes her a good choice for the campaign but Daria definitely holds the dress and makes it much more marketable and almost completely wearable.
I really like the way they both wear it. The style and fit of the dress is tight.
