There were so many events and parties happening yesterday I wish I knew how to transport from one place to another. The first stop was to the Yohji Yamamoto and Y-3 joint store opening in the MeatPacking District. The Yohji Yamamoto store was simply amazing, the triangle shaped store was sliced from one side to the other to create a transparent look – I love the bricked walls. If you’ve decided on a piece, the salesperson will need to leave the store and cross the courtyard to get to the stockroom in the other building. The store features the women’s and men’s collections, accessories and Stormy Weather, Yamamoto’s jewelry collaboration with Mikimoto. As for the Y-3 store, a collaboration between adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, the 2,100 square foot shop is decked with products from wall to wall. The store sells apparel for women and men, footwear and accessories and the limited edition Y-3 “Nice to Meet You” Sneaker which is limited to 50 pairs exclusively in store only. This limited piece is made with Japanese denim from Yamamoto’s fabric atelier, retails for $500. More pics after the jump…

Whoa! You were there really early! I was definitely looking for myself in your photos, but I didn’t arrive until around 7. It got SOO packed at both stores by 9.30. I saw many top hats, vintage YY being worn, and even a mini beret pinned into a girl’s hair. I covet the Y-3 NY special editions.

the mikimoto pieces look amazing, def need to check the store out soon for some fresh spring kicks.

Ahhh! Yea…when they closed the bar at the point of the YY store, it became a ghost town. The highlight of the night, for me, was watching sceney people attempting to eat the sausage hot dogs at Y-3.
