It was a shock when I read WWD on Tuesday morning that the police raided and closed three buildings occupying a Chinatown block selling counterfeit goods. Police closed 32 storefronts and fenced off the entire block of Canal Street buildings. $1 million in knockoff accessories and fragrances were seized during the operation, labels including Prada, Fendi, Coach, Rolex, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Calvin Klein — and even Dora the Explorer. This is not the first time counterfeit stores have been raided, I don’t see this coming to an end anytime – perhaps if they’ve tackled down on the landlords the “Counterfeit Triangle” will seek another location. But this operation have def shook the counterfeit business and they’ve encountered a huge loss, but I’m sure they will rise again soon. Yesterday I passed by Canal Street while grocery shopping with my mom and noticed the restraining orders on the gates of the storefronts it was a relieve actually, I wasn’t harassed by counterfeit sellers to go in and buy fake handbags for once. Let’s just see how long this lasts… More pics after the jump…

Hello! coming H&M luv today? i like your H&M luv posts..
Wait a minute! Isn’t that Knockoff Stand by the 6 train? I pass it everytime I go shopping at Scoop which is about 3 blocks away.
lol, who’d ever buy perfumes from a street store?
i’m even slightly suspicious about HKs SASA and they’re reputable!
u’d be surprised kiks, maddddddd tourists and some locals come out with loads of black plastic bags. and inside are the fakes hahah! its so obvious and some tourists are so ridic they wear it right away and the tags are still attached hahahahaha
Even though canal st. sells fakes, its still kinda sad that they closed everything down. I mean, canal street was a big thing known in chinatown. My aunt has a shop on grand, i just hope she doesnt get caught.
I wonder if anything like that will go down in LA’s Chinatown. My grandma use to get me knock off coin purses when I was a kid from Chinatown. I rocked it. Good thing little kids back then couldn’t tell the difference. LOL Kids today are questionable.
when you look at it for what it is it’s really quite sad. people trying to make a buck off of yes, counterfeit handbags, but from who? from these huge corporations (design houses) that are probably accounting for the more wealthy portion of the world.
Wow, big loss of $$ for the people who got caught. I wonder what they do with all those bags the cops picked up.
wow, thats crazy, I thought that would never happen
cause theyve been getting away with selling counterfeit goods for a longggg time.
