I actually went in a couple of days ago, and everything was already out…I got the crosshatch apron dress, adn the Chevron striped dress…which isn’t on the website, but looks just like the Chevron-striped top, but is much longer. I also went in last night and got the star-printed vest…it is so cute! Other than that, I wasn’t too impressed by this collection…I found it sort of dated (most of it reminded me of that whole boho-prairie thing which I am not ashamed to admit that I was a part of) and a bit “cheapy” looking…most of it looke like something from American Eagle or something…not nearly as nice as the Proenza Schouler collection.

Nitrolicious what did you get? I got the polka dotted swimsuit, pleated black and white top, grey shorts, chevron top (which I probably will trade in for the dress, bought it b4 I knew), and the floral top. Hopefully when I get them, I’ll return a couple to save money.

They had the collection out on friday at my local targets. The apron dress doesn’t have that asymmetrical hem like in the picture, and sizing is weird as usual. I ended up getting the linen vest and chevron top which is more like a dress. Most of the things I wanted to check out weren’t in stores, so I’ll have to risk buying online.

The clothes in this line are friggin’ adorable and I could not wear them without looking like Mama Cass. I did, however, buy the corset front baby doll, and I’m hoping to find the chiffon baby doll at some point.

I ended up getting the yellow bird t-shirt, the chevron dress (long tunic top? I guess you could wear it as both) and the floral dot print blouse. I was tempted by the same style blouse in the black paisley, but I restrained myself.

I was kind of unimpressed by the quality of fabric on some of the dresses, which looked really nice in the previews. They were far too light and thin, which kind of destroys the blousey flow that would make them better.

Some of the other pieces were nice, though, such as the star vest, jacquard wrap dress, the black capris, and the blue hoodie.

  7. Lauren Says:

has anyone tried on the bathing suits?? how do they fit? i think the bathing suits are th cutest pieces out of the whole collection, i wanna order one online so any feedback on them would be appreciated!

tried on several things but settled on floral dot print blouse. felt retro to me. had a top like it as a kid in the 70s. at target, hubbie thought the blouse looked cheap. i purchased it anyway. after pairing it with wide leg dark denim jeans, hubbie liked it alot. wore outfit out this afternoon.

  9. Inspired Lime Says:

I’m not getting anything online! I’m waiting until I try on some pieces in the store. You guys know it: the fit is weird (either that or I’m getting hella chubbs lol).

So I have to say my piece about Jovovich-hawk: I love them. I remember hearing about them back in 2004 and found myself falling in love with their looks and sorting-of rooting for them. Not just cause there the kind of kooky chicks you want to take out for a pint but because I think they really have an eye (and CFDA thought so too in 2006!).

Sigh* but this line… I’m not impressed. I agree with Virginia; this all looks boho-prairie-sienna-miller-circa-2005. The shapes of the dresses, the misguided prints, the thin flimsy fabrics, and all those ruffles! I’m just not feeling it. Though there a couple decent pieces, the collection as a whole is very uninspiring. The vision they put forth for this spring feels very off the mark. Instead of putting out something unique and delightful, Carmen and Milla copped out by giving us a silly re-hash of Sienna-Miller-circa-2005. I just expected better from them. This feels like Forever 21 but worse cause it’s so recognizable!

Ok all that said, I will be buying the Chiffon Dress in Wave Ecru. I mean, where else can you buy a Jovovich-Hawk dress for $40?? I’m gonna bury the dress in the back of my closet and hopefully by the time I “discover” it I’ll have gotten over my Alexander Wang phase and I’ll be ready for a chiffon dress again.

I bought the black corset dress, the blk/wht polka dot shift, the star vest and the top that was in the commercial. Initially I was pretty excited, but I was disappointed in some of the quality and the fact that the tube type dresses (elastic top) were sooooooooo darn tight and non-stretchy that even when I went up a size it was hard to get them over my head! And I must agree now with some of the other posters that this line was not very inventive at all, very boho prairie, very, very thin fabrics used in most of the garments except for the corset dress which is actually very well constructed and fits very nicely. I’m a thrifter, so it almost makes me want to save my coins for the big scores I usually find at the thrift store! Oh, well, what do we want for $40.

  11. LosBorrachos Says:

I ordered the paisley/flower skirt (it looks like it has some nice detailing), the paisley belt top, and the star print tunic (i’m hoping it’s long enough that i can wear it as a minidress). i can’t wait for my packages to arrive so i can try ‘em on! as far as fabrics go, i wouldn’t be surprised if they were of lower quality–it’s been the norm for the go! international line and for this price who’s complaining? but as far as the design goes, the boho thing is making a comeback on the runways–d&g and cavalli are doing it, while thakoon and paul & joe are doing some floral patterns in lighter fabrics much like this line. trends get recycled, guys, nothing new.

  12. Betsy Says:

I tried on many items in this line and had to go up two sizes than what I typically wear – everything is cut very small and for small/no-busted shapes. Pieces w/cinch or pucker I couldn’t even pull over my head and I’m a small girl. Many shirts and blouses were not good quality fabric & not worth $25+. I bought the high waisted jeans which are cute, but again, they are size 9 and I am a 4. Black capris and halter sun dress were also favorites but I passed thinking I can get better quality. Cute prints but I think there’s a small category of women that this line will actually compliment their figure.

I tried on what I thought would look good; a lot of the stuff had already been snagged by people, even though it just came out Sunday here. But what I tried on was the star print top (which looked more like a dress on me; it was SO long that it was slightly ridiculous). The blue dress with the gold thread was made out of some really cheap cotton fabric that clung to my tights completely. The striped top with the ties in the back was cute, but kind of big. And that Arabella Halter dress was way too small. I usually wear an extra small, and I had to go up to a medium, and that was just barely the right size. I also agree with LosBarrachos; it’s a line meant for people with a small bust (like moi). That halter dress would not have fit anyone over an A cup.

I did, however, get the chevron striped tunic/dress and the star vest. I might go to a different Target and see if they have any of the other dresses/the other vest. The dress selection was mainly the elastic stuff at the store I live near.

  14. Ali Kate Says:

Woops. I mean Besty, when I was talking about the size and small busts thing.
And forgot to add this: The overall line was cute, but slightly dated and would only be flattering to a certain number of people because of the way the clothes are cut.

  15. Jade Says:

Just so you guys know i talked to a couple associates who work at target and they all said they should be getting allot more in in about a weeks time. The stuff they have out is all they’ve gotten so far. I was soooo disappointed because they got random sizes of everything. I ended up buying the chevron tunic dress(which was the last one or the only one they got in?) and the polka dotted dress. I think I’m going to return the polka dotted one because it looks HUGE on me. It’s and XS and normally i wear a S or a M at target. So annoying. I was so excited about it too. I’ve even tried the belted look from the website but i just don’t know.
