If you are one that is hoping for Versace to create a limited edition collection with H&M, it won’t happen as long as Donatella heads the label. On Sunday at the TimesTalk, T editor Stefano Tonchi held a discussion with her about fashion, politics, and growing up as a Versace. Below is what she said about doing a line with H&M:
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Were any of you guys looking forward to this collaboration? I wasn’t… 5 Responses to “Versace for H&M – Donatella Said, “No””![]() COMMENTS PAGE:![]() |

I think that her reasoning is totally logical and I’m glad that someone finally said no. I would have loved to see it, but eh, what can you do. The woman has a point.
I understand her point and can imagine she doesn’t want to take a risk. I do think you can collab with H&M and still maintain that luxury image. Who would confuse the brands? The consumers? I don’t think the consumers are that retarded.
Not interested in Versace x H&M anyways.
i agree that at some point this needs to stop…i understand the reasoning and what they’re trying to do when introducing luxury brands (new luxury) at affordable prices for the masses but i don’t think every single designer needs to jump on board…
i do think that there’s potential for younger consumers to be confused so she makes a good point. And at least she didn’t say anything really rude or specifically down any luxury brands who have partnered with the store…
i think the main problem would be the quality..cavalli collection looked very nice, but the materials were extremely bad..if i was a famous designer i wouldnt agree either, or at least tried to get the best quality materials for my collection so it wouldnt make people think about how low a famous designer can get
i was not expecting versace for h&m either. and lanvin. these are like uber luxury brands. imo. i’m thinking more marc jacobs jumping in the bandwagon.
