To commemorate one of rock’s most prolific songwriters and reluctant successes, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Converse teamed up with Courtney Love to design a limited edition range that feature artwork and scribbles borrowed from Kurt Cobain’s personal notebooks. Distressed in the way Kurt Cobain wore them, the shoes provide a rarely seen glimpse into the head of this musical and lyrical genius with sketches that display his hopes, dreams and lyrics from amazing songs such as “Come As You Are”. Often pictured wearing Chuck Taylor All Star, Jack Purcell or One Star shoes, the collection includes versions of all three shoes with wear and fray detailing and Kurt Cobain’s signature subtly embroidered on the shoe’s outer. The collection is available in black and white versions with lyric, notebook scribbles or distressed detailing, shoes retail at $50 – $65 and sizing will be available for women and men. Look out for these shoes nationwide at specialty retailers and online at www.converse.com beginning in June (confirmed by Converse rep). Release dates has been pushed back from May to June, but it’s definitely worth the wait – I especially like the Chuck Taylor All Star Lyric Edition in black. edit: More pics after the jump…

Hey… I’m from Denmark and a huge fan of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. I really want one of those “Converse x Kurt Cobain – Chuck Taylor All Star Lyric Edition (Black)” (the first on the site). They aren’t available in shops in Denmark, and I can’t find them on the internet. They aren’t available on Journeys.com PLEASE HELP

Hahaha..I have the converse in the first pick.They are my favorite pair of sneaks b/c they are really cool and also b/c they are my first pair of converse.I got them in Louisiana at Journeys.But I like the ones in the 2nd pic too.They look awesome.
