Chanel’s fall 2008 makeup collection is now available, I know some of you have been waiting for the limited edition FACETTES D’OR Nail Colour in Gold Fiction since news was released in April. The price of this new nail polish is $30, more expensive than the usual $20 bottle because Chanel used high-end pigments to get the color and finish just right, and the outer bottle is also done in an [opaque] gold case (which is bad in a way because you wouldn’t know how much is left). Will you buy Gold Fiction or an alternative? The collection is now available at Chanel and Bloomingdales.
tried it while I was out in Cali, hated it. Saw it on the mannequins outside of Chanel last night, still didn’t like it. I wanted to like it, but it’s just not gold enough.

I’ll probably buy it so I can wait until it’s sold out and hawk it for 2-3x the price like everyone else seems to do with LE Chanel polishes…
i went to bloomingdales yesterday and picked up kaleidoscope instead. grey>gold for fall in my opinion.
I had actually gone to Bloomingdales with the intention of trying out the Kaleidoscope polish, but instead I fell in love with Gold Fiction. It is rather subtle, but that’s why I love it–it’s totally fun yet work-appropriate. It looks like a slightly rosy kind of gold.
