Hayden Harnett for Target Spring 2009
Hayden-Harnett (not part of the Target collection)

WWD reports that “Target has tapped Brooklyn-based accessories brand Hayden-Harnett to do an exclusive line for spring 2009″. If the sources are accurate Hayden-Harnett will follow the footsteps of Rafe, Devi Kroell, Loeffler Randall, Hollywould, Gryson and Botkier on an exclusive collection with the mass merchant. Stay tuned for the confirmation!

Would you like to see this collaboration come through?

I looooove h-h bags! I hope this turns out awesome! The materials used in the past few collabs haven’t really thrilled me.

^^I totally agree- been really bored with Target’s accessory collaborations too.

I keep getting word about the new collections– but by the time they come out– the silhouettes look dated and the materials are cheap. I know that in the end, softlines’ buyers make the final call on the assortments and price points and that sometimes ruins a designers’ original intent and look of the line.

However, if this collection does mirror current HH silhouettes–I would gladly spend $60+ if target offered some designs in leather. I HATE PVC!

I’m a long time fan of HH – great leathers, great design, no logos, and under $500. While I don’t expect their butter-leather in the Target designs – I expect they will use canvas and soft PVC – I do think their aesthetic could translate quite well. Too bad they won’t be doing a clothes line as well, as their own-label line is just about perfect.

I’m skeptical- I just bought a metallic clutch from the Botkier for Target collection and it was absolute crap. The point of a clutch is to have a grab-and-go and I kid you not, the color would just deposit onto my hands, the counter, etc. Instead of a nice soft bronze, it’s a soft bronze with patches of primer grey all over it.

I love H-H bags but I’m not holding my breath for it.

I am a big fan of HH! I am excited to see them get more exposure. Though I haven’t been too crazy about what I’ve seen of the Target bags so far. I hope they do some of their canvas bags in fun styles because so far these pleather bags by other labels have seemed so cheaply made.
