While browsing through Kanye’s blog, I came across the Stolen Jewels by Mike and Maaike post. Stolen Jewels was inspired by “an exploration of tangible vs virtual in relation to real and perceived goods”. The collection was born after the designers Googled through some of the most expensive and famous jewels in the world and “stole” the low-res images, doctored, then the images are printed and scored into “pixelated” leather tangible products. Some of the Stolen Jewels include the Hope Diamond Broach, the Golden Jubilee Diamond Broach, the Great Chrysanthemum Necklace, and Imelda Marcos’ Ruby Necklace with Diamonds by Van Cleef & Arpels. Very dope and clever concept indeed, I am loving the “pixelated” jewels- I’d rock them anyday!! More photos after the jump…
