Thanks to reader Patrice for the heads-up that the images for the Hayden-Harnett for Target collection has released. Target teamed up with designers Toni Hacker and Ben Harnett from Hayden-Harnett to launch a limited-edition handbag collection, it is seventh handbag launch in a series of limited-time-only accessories at Target. The Hayden-Harnett for Target collection will be available at most Target stores and at Target.com December 28, 2008 through March 15, 2009. Styles range from “oversized envelope clutches to convertible hobos and flight totes. Finishes include distressed brown or black faux-leather and a multi-color fig-leaf printed canvas. Hardware such as studs, chains and grommets coupled with convertible and interchangeable straps double both as functional and decorative. Unique to this collection is a sleek and feminine umbrella, which stands out in the signature fig-leaf print. The Hayden-Harnett for Target collection ranges in price from $19.99 to $49.99, in comparison to their high-end line which can cost as much as $700.” The collection is ok, I’m not too impressed. What do you think? More pics after the jump…

I actually like these quite a bit, though they aren’t ground-breaking or as interesting as the Loeffler Randall bags–if only because they don’t look as cheap as they are inexpensive. I like some of the Anya Hindmarch stuff, but not enough to buy it because I thought it looked obviously like PVC and not patent. I like the chain bag and the hobo bag, and that umbrella! Very cool. Of course, though, the real test is when I can see these in person.

As always with the Target collections, they look decent enough in pics but you never know until you see them in person…

I have the clutch wallet already…the black one…it feels nice, not shiny or plastic-y! I really like it and they put really cute lining on the inside. Love the umbrella and double flap bag.

I love the Multicolor Umbrella and the Canvas Hobo in Multicolor, but prefer Hayden Harnett proper over the Target line in general. I will have to see them in person though.

I was very disappointed in this line…only one good thing is that the envelope style flap bags don’t say FOR TARGET all huge on them…i really like that in black but i was hoping for more color or prints every design they did is black and tan and black and tan so it made it boring
