Mama has just released her Fall ‘08 collection entitled, “Mi Vida Loca.” The collection is inspired by classic, west coast Americana style, “Mi Vida Loca” takes us from the Zoot Suit Riots of the 1940’s, to the low rider culture of today. Picture sultry nights and getting the girls together in the Bomba to go cruising while listening to your favorite oldies. As Mama says, “There’s something in this collection for everyone: the tomboy, the heart-breaker, the school girl and the dreamer.” The range includes t-shirts, fleece tops and jackets, flannel shirts, overalls, cashmere sweaters, outerwear and jewelry and can be found at fine street wear boutiques and online. More pics after the jump…

After seeing this my whole life, I’m not too crazy about it. The tops are really cool though. The pants arent for sale right? They are absolutely awful, they have to be just for the theme.

I like the clothes, but for Mama alone on their collections, they’re a little too serious when it comes to concepts. I don’t believe that having each collection market a certain period, era, or lifestyle is appealing because like
Nancee said above me, I’ve seen this my life, I’m of Latina decent and in my opinion I can see how someone could see this as stereotypical. I say keep it real with some original designs and concepts like HB and MOB do.
THAT’S what’s up. Overall, though, some of the designs are really dope and simplistic. I dig that.

concept or rip?
the shoot is cool but def. too referential, too literal.
