Kira Plastinina came in a storm to the US in May and leaves even faster, the 16-year-old Russian fashion designer will close 10 of her 12 US stores by the end of 2008 after less than a year as demand slumps. “The number of shoppers in the U.S. fell significantly,” said Sergei Plastinin, Kira’s father, the food entrepreneur who co-founded OAO Wimm-Bill-Dann.” On the other hand no worries for the young designer as “sales in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan may reach $70 million this year, said Maria Lomova, a spokeswoman for the chain.” via NYMag Its so sad to hear designers, stores and magazines folding almost everyday these past couple of months, when is it going to end?! 3 Responses to “Kira Plastinina To Close 10 of 12 US Stores”![]() COMMENTS PAGE:![]() |

It was pretty ridiculous of her to open so many stores at once to begin with. she should have opened one or two and see how it went from there. i went in there once, and i left within 30 seconds. You can tell this is clothing designed by an uninspired 16-year-old rich girl =/
I have to agree with Ske. Her clothes are cheap looking and looks like a 10 year old’s craft project.
It’s not really sad considering she doesn’t really design her clothes and she got where she was only because she has a wealthy father.
